I know someone must have run across this already, so here's my question...if I am storing the car for the winter, but the vehicle is financed, so I still have to keep full coverage on it? I don't see how I could get away with anything other than doing a high-deductible collision coverage...has anyone been able to get away with putting a stop on the policy entirely?

Talk to your insurance co. I have "winter storage" insurance from december to Feb. . . my only lets me to 3 months.

state farm here lets me cut it to winter sorage as long as i need its only a couple hundred dollars a year for the time its away and i just call them to put it back on the road i keep the plate and everything no hassles

Just "suspend" the Liability and Collision. Keep the Comprehensive in the event of fire or other damage.

I keep mine insured all year long and it only gets like 80 miles on a year.
It's good to have, just in case something happens in your home/garage.

fire and theft is what my car is under now. Insurance dropped from 600 to 50 a month now

I have State Farm and take mine off the road for the winter months. They charge me $20/month.

All you should need is comperehensive coverage with a low or no deductible. As long as it stays in storage and is not driven (hence not subject to being hit) this should be sufficient for the lender. Comprehensive would cover mischief and fire, etc.

$40.31 for six months.

I work for SF Ins. Drop it to comprehensive ONLY with a $0 deductible (If available to you) and garage it. No issues.
