Im off the wagon!

As much as it breaks my heart to say this. It doesn't look like Ill be buying a new Camaro. though Ill have almost enough to put half down for a down payment, these gas prices have me rethinking everything.

Im in Iraq and a civilian has me worried sick about the economy. Hes told me stories about a possible recession along with all kinds of things that could happen. Gas is over 4 bucks a gallon and by 2012 whos to say it wont be 10 bucks a gallon?

Ive asked my mom to allow me to re-take over the payments on my S/C Cobalt (get my old car back) I just dont see buying a new Camaro as a smart choice.

Ill have 3 years left to pay on my Cobalt once I get back. That gives me 3 years to figure out if my choice was wise or that I might have over thought this whole thing

but either way the 5th Gen Camaro will or should be around when my cobalt is paid off.

Damn these gas prices

Let the record show that Ive owned a 2001 Z28, 72 Z28 and still have my 84 Z28. Im a huge fan of the Camaro (Z28) I hope the best for this old warrior in its return

i'm certain the gas prices may have reached close to their peak...theres a good chance we may drill for our own oil that will bring down the prices considerably. also i'm certain the camaro's will have good mpg's with the v6 having 27

and the media has been talking recession for 2 years and we haven't even had a negative quarter ....

in the words of the great flava flav..."'don't , don't believe the hype"

3 years of paying on the Cobalt + the 1/2 down should pay for a Camaro, at least the base..... and it should get good mpg as well.

oil smoil... get a Camaro... no pressure!!!

I hope everyone know that oil prices are already dropping. So as long as MaCain doesnt win This is as high as gas should get.

Don't let the propaganda weasels, err, I mean the media scare you. As chevydude said, we have yet to see a negative quarter and I believe it takes two to be called a recession. I hope we have seen the peak of gas prices. If only congress wouldn't be such stubborn nancies (lol @ nancie polosie).

you've got it backwards ...no disrespect...mccain wants to drill for more oil...obama doesn't

obama stated he was okay with the price of oil he just thought it would happen more gradually and they only want alternative fuels which will take decades to have an effect

mccain wants both drilling and alternative fuels...how again would a mccain win bring about higher gas prices???

no more on this political subject on this forum from me i just had to address that comment

ROFL. McCain supports green but also supports offshore drilling. Whether you are dem or repub, it's known that we have to drill for now to bring down prices. Sorry for the off topic.

No, the onl;y reason oil prices are coming down is that opec is getting nervous. They know that we know there's huge oil deposits in this country just waiting to be tapped and if we start drilling it's gonna put a huge dent in their profits. I also disagree, if obama get's in you can count on oil going back through the roof 'cause he's strongly against drilling.

I fully understand your concerns, but the bonus of these cars is that, well 1: the 4Cyl Turbo will boast almost 30MPG and with the cylinder de-activation on the 8cyl will increase its MPG considerably. look at the G8 its what 4000 and its getting 28MPG highway and 24 City. that isnt half bad if you ask me.

15/24 for the GT...actually........

Still, the V6 in the Camaro can easily boast 27mpg+. If I were to advise you...I'd say wait until monday to make this decision, there's things you have to consider that we just don't know yet.

I completely agree. The V6 will boast ridiculous power for the mileage and will handle really well due to the front-back weight ratio. 27 mpg is impressive for a lot of cars. It might not be 4-banger mileage, but if you want a slick pony car with good mileage, the Camaro is still for you.

Gas prices have dropped almost 18 dollars a barrel in the past 3 days.

Actually prices are coming down because Bush went out and said Drill Drill and Drill and that has the market scared. If we start a policy of drilling now the specualtors as well as OPEC know we are going to increase supply in the short term thus lowering prices as well as becoming less dependant on OPEC. YEA
