Fab intake manifold

Anyone running the sniper fab intake manifold? Pros and cons?

There is not many thread on this. Some say its loosing a bunch compared to stock and other say its alright. Ive been looking at it latelt and most of the time youll lose a lot or TQ and HP from 0-4500-5500 and then it will pick up, if the intake is any good.

Holley hi-rise is a real performer, like the FAST(mid runner) but mosty over 5500-7500. It picked up 50hp over the FAST lsxr 102mm(long runner) in stock ci ls3; with LSA heads(maybe ported) and a 231 244 comp cam iirc. Engine dyno, article by lsx mag or something like that.

Hi rise do not fit at all under hood.

BTR is working on a new intake that looks nice but cathedral port as of now. Dont know if any square port are in the plan.

TSP has one comin too similar to sniper, for ls3.

There is another nice one, 1500$ fab one, but its expensive with no real word results but they claim 30hp over stock intake...

Ls6 vs fab...

Piece on ls1tech about it. In the thread, there is vid from TSP about manifold tests that is telling. Truth is it is hard to beat the LS3 manifold for most of the cars on this site.

Holley hi rise and mid rise vs FAST lsxr(long runner) and ls3.
http://www.lsxmag.com/tech-stories/e...ake-manifolds/

20 ls1 intake test.
https://www.google.ca/amp/www.hotrod...ds-tested/amp/

Moral of the story, you need the cam that will carry to 7000-7300.

So agressive gearing needed. Depends what you you do with the car.

On an interesting note, I remember they said porting the FAST lsxr can hurt the results. Id go with a very potent porter or just port match lightly. Or leave it alone damn at that price.

Well the stock one broke under boost. I picked up the fab one in hopes it won't crack.

Running a Sniper race intake on my turbo 5.3 crapstang, 25 psi no flexing or problems. 7800 RPM with no issues. Not a fan of the super victor for turbo applications due to the distribution issues.

There was this heavy duty olive drab looking intake on here being produced by someone in Texas that looked the most promising for the ls3 recently but its not a sponsor and the thread......? But it looked and sounded nice......compared to those in the common availability the stock; fast, (which at least comes with nitrous bung areas), high and mid rises of the LSX mag article.

I can't comment on the dyno yet, 12" of snow on the ground here... but the quality is A+. Very nice piece!
