Bluetooth Phone Calling
Finally got around to setting up my cell phone to pair with the Camaro in order to have hands free talking, using the cell phone minutes (Not Onstars).
Man, it was easy as hell to do this. And a very cool feature. If I can do it, anyone can. The manual explains it real good. I used the voice recognition for everything (Including saying the numbers for the phone). Worked flawlessly. I didn't even need my cell phone manual. Just looked in Settings and looked for Bluetooth. After a little pre-reading, and some advice from a few members here (That also enforced how easy it was), I had the cell phone paired, and 10 different phone numbers stored in under 5 minutes. Hell, I sat in the car for an hour in the garage having a few cold Heinekens and calling up people using this newly discovered feature (I've had the car for almost 6 months now!!). DO NOT LET THIS PROCESS INTIMIDATE YOU!! It's so easy, and totally awesome. The only thing I was worried about happened when I made the 1st phone call-- the sound came from the cell phone, and NOT the cars speakers. Weird. But all the following calls were fine.

I actually set mine up WITHOUT the manual.. that's how easy it is. I even figured out how to store numbers just by saying "store" and also how to "edit" and "delete".. I'm sure there's other great stuff too I haven't figured out yet.. lol.

The cool one i found yesterday was using Map Quest and then sending the direction from Map Quest right to the car! You do need your OnStar account number... then when you get in the car you hit the Phone Button and say "Virtual Adviser"... You can then down load the direction to the car... pretty cool!

You've tried using your cell phone with the Bluetooth feature of the car and it didn't work? What part?

I have the Samsung hue SCH-R500 and I can not use this phone with Bluetooth in the car. For some reason it is incompatable. Is there anyone else out there with this model phone having the same issue? I have talked to both GM and Altell/Verizion about it with no definitive answer.

Set mine up this evening and it is nice!!! Did a test with a friend on the phone. Lowered and raised windows while flying down off ramps and Highways (literally doing 95 mph). The only issue was opening and closing the sunroof; was told it sounded like an aircraft flying over head while opening. Otherwise, the call was clear and the caller could hear just fine.

I set mine up a little while ago but didnt have alot of time, so I only entered a couple of numbers in the cars phone book. Afterwards I read in the manual that when your cell is paired with the car, say "bluetooth voice" and the car syncs with the cellphones address book. Works great so I didnt bother entering any more numbers into the car. The only drawback is that you have to re-sync every time you get back into the car. Works great and saves alot of time if you have alot of numbers stored in your phone.
