Random question and redundant, but I'd like to know...(MPG related)
After looking more in depth at the CTS-V, I realized that the sedan gets 12 and 18 estimated fuel economy.
Would the LSA in the Z28 (should that be the engine), get about the same mpg, or would it be something like 15/22? |

Well...consider the LLT; which gets 26hwy in the CTS...and 29mpg in the Camaro. The cars are shaped very differently.
I think the LSA could manage a 20mpg hwy number unless they do some major massaging. |

Doesn't weight have to do with MPG as well? I would think the Camaro would get slightly a better MPG rating.

Yes, city mileage. A couple hundred pounds wouldn't really effect hwy, though.

Does the CTS-V have AFM in the auto?

Nevermind. I missunderstood the OP.
Got ahead of the question. Was wondering if the LSA could benefit by AFM as much as the SS did. IF it could even have it. And were to be in a Z28.

It seems to me, just going off of what the aftermarket is doing, for the most part, just keeping the AFM off is the easiest. Also, I wonder if the CTS-V cam is more aggressive than the L99. I know MAST makes cams for this engine, and have read a few articles on AFM/VVT engines and the changes to get the aggressive cams don't seem to be too complicated. I think that they are not going to implement AFM or VVT on LSA if that's what gets into Z28.

Mythbusters accidentally proved that recently. They were trying to see if golfball like dimpling would help, so they had to add ~800 lbs of clay to the car. Over a 1 mile run it got 26 mpg. Without the weight it was 26.4.
