I don't think so!!! I wouldn't even attempt it without a paint thickness gauge and then I still don't think there is enough on there.
Thinking that after 2-3 years "wear and tear" on the paint, I would consider having a body shop shoot clear over it and then wet sand it myself. I've done a couple of my cars in the past and I'm comfortable doing it if the clear coat is plenty thick. Any body & paint guys have an opinion on this?

Probably on certain areas of the car there would be more clear than others. The egdes would be real thin.I sanded down my hood trunk lid and top of front bumper with 800. Painted my stripes and recleared them all again. Top Surfaces seemed to have plenty of clear. I was real Careful on my edges. See my car in View MY Garage

The worst thing I've encountered is trying to move the car back and forth fast enough to sand it right. Very hard.
Just kidding. I would expect to repaint the entire car if your crazy enough to try it. It seems to be very thin. |

They have a light adherence coat pass and then a single coat. Tricky but it could be done with a start at 1500. Shit Ive wetsanded hyundais with factory paint.
