Tinted Taillights

Hey guys. Should be takin delivery of my 2SS/RS Black/Black in a couple weeks or so. Startin to get a bunch of ideas for small customizations. Already decided on blacking out the bowties and tinting the windows. I think I'm gonna tint the taillights with the headlight armor kit. Trying to decide between the smoke version or the dark stealth smoke version. Anybody try either of these tint levels? Which one would be better on a black car? As always, any pics are welcome. Thanks for the help.

I was going to try tint film, but with the rough weather in New York I rather have the blackout cover for easy removal.

The tail-light blackouts on black Camaros looks awesome without that irritating GTO decals

I also got my bowties painted about a week ago, so it looks 500x better now!
Did you make it to the OKC meet and greet? I dont recall seeing your blackout taillights. I bought the same kind I think and when I help them up, there seemed to be a small gap around the edge. Yours the same? I have not stuck them on yet since I wanted the weather to be warm so they stick good. The ones I got are like a hard plastic and stick on with 3M tape and "cut to fit".

Sounds good! We have photos of all three levels in our vendor thread here The car used for the RS option photos was black, so that should help. It all depends on how dark you want the taillights to look. Some like them really dark and some like them just smoked a bit and others are in between.

Yes they do. There is a gap, but small. Just align it right to minimize the gap. As for the 3M tape, I hate where they placed it in the center. Instead of the lower corners my guess is since the tape is transparent, it will be unnoticed. The best part about my blackouts is when I press on the brakes, the brake light are lid enough with a slight dim unlike the darker ones.

Careful when ordering these covers. Some of them are not design to properly fit on the Camaros. More like mimics. I have seen many kinds but the GTO has a better fit to it.

They are dark, the sun was just directly behind me. I was surprised the picture made them look transparent too!

I was thinking about blacking my lights

I plan on doing the bowtie and the trunk, not sure if doing the lights too would be too much
