6 piston calipers on a 1LE

Hi guys, been looking for ZL1 6 piston calipers to put on my 2015 1LE.
I did find a pair of 2013 Grandsport Corvette 6 piston Brembos so was wondering if anyone can tell me if those will work or are the same as the ZL1?

Also same question for C6 ZR1 calipers?

Thanks for any help with this.

Corvette Forum set up seems reasonable

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...et-dfw-tx.html

Camaro 6 set up an these look like a true 5th Gen set up.

Thanks so much for the links!

The ZO6 calipers are really the way to go because if I remember correctly from previous research they have vented pistons???

Do the corvettes have the same bolt pattern on the rotors?

I am not familiar with Carbontech pads, is the XP25 pads a hot track set up??

Whether it is 5th gen ZL1 or Corvette, do you need to change the bracket that the calipers mount to?

Thanks again!

I believe the offset is different on the Vette rotors. I used CTSV rotors. They look just like the ZL1 rotors and were $170 on RockAuto.

2011 Vert - 416/w 230/236 .612/.602 115lsa, 1LE suspension w/32mm rear bar. Z28 diff. ZL1 brakes.

Calipers will bolt right up but you need rotors for a ZL1. I had a great experience with KNS Brakes.

That is very helpful. Thanks.
Any specific years for the CTSV?

I used 2011 CTS and then select the supercharged one. Now for the bad news, only the left side is available now. BREMBO 09A66513

The part number for the right is BREMBO 09A66523 if you can find them somewhere else reasonably.

Not sure what the difference is, maybe the direction of the internal vanes.

If you can score a set of blown out rotors to get the hats you get use a set of Z06 iron rotors from KNS fairly reasonable. I’ve been lucky enough to get a set of rear Z28 rotor hats an front ZL1 hats an hardware so I should have a pretty slick setup.
Screaming Chicken has the non TQ to yield bolts for all four corners for like 35 bucks and they have a serrated head. See link below Also you can read the in the 1LE section there’s a awesome thread about this as well. See below.
An yes the C7 calipers have the vented pistons but if you come across a killer deal on a set of ZL1 calipers the piston sets are about 120-130 a set not counting dust boots which can be bought from Rock Auto. Now RA has a really good price on C7 calipers if your thinking of going new and you have 3-4 colors to choose from.

So I went back an looked at the 6th Gen caliper set up and the calipers look identical to a 5th Gen set except the color. I think you could get a set of standard SS rear rotors pretty cheap and buy the Brembo brand from Rock Auto and when those rotors are done you could just swap the rotors from the original 6th Gen onto the 5th Gen hats an stay completely OEM. Or offer the guy a decent price for the calipers only 750-800 I think would be fair for the calipers seeing how you can buy C7 calipers brand new for about 400’ish but will say Corvette on them.

There are tons of threads on all this, do a search.
ZR1 calipers are similar to the Z/28 fronts and Gen6 BCD package. They are much larger and it will complicate your rotor choice, if they even work. But don’t overthink it, just go with C7 ZO6 or GS non CCM, Gen5 ZL1, Gen2 CTS-V or Gen6 SS 1LE calipers. Always choose the Gen5 ZL1 rotor or the Gen2 CTS-V rotor. Anything else will not work.

As for brake hose choice, always choose Gen5 ZL1.

Thanks for the breakdown!!!
Yes I have been reading up on older threads.
Please just tell me what “ GS non CCM” is.
Thinking GS might be Grandsport

Thank you

Haha, sorry, yeah GS is Grand Sport

CCM is carbon ceramic matrix (rotors). We want to use the calipers from the iron rotor C7 Grand Sport and ZO6.

Dropspeed had a good thread on the 6 piston change over and he also had a thread on the C7 ZO6/GS caliper upgrade. Those two threads lay out most if not all the info you would need.

I did the C7 ZO6/GS Brembos on my ‘14 1LE. As mentioned above they have the vented pistons which will slow the heat transfer into the fluid.

Thanks for explanation.
I have been reading Dropspeed’s threads and even taking notes.
I am also leaning towards the C7 Z06 mostly because I can get Red to match the 1LE color even though it does say Corvette.
Just to confirm-still use only Gen 5 ZL1 rotors with ZO6 calipers?

The ZO6 calipers seem to come in two choices of red color, does anyone know which one matches the 1LE ?
J6K Red and J6F Red
