Thumbs up News print article: Chevy's 2010 Camaro - In for the long haul?

To my great surprise this morning, I pop open the paper and read the following article...

The greatest thing about it is that all of the information in it is as correct as it can be!

This is an impressively fact-based article, unlike previous publications regarding the upcoming Camaro.

I thought the Challenger was about two inches narrower? Oh well, whatever. At least it didn't seem like they were dogging the car, to me. Nice find

Nice article. With the exception of using non-inflation adjusted gas prices and saying the FWD SI is the modern equivalent, this article, unlike so many others, seems to get what this is all about. I remember when the 05 Mustang came out there were a lot of articles just like this. I think it bodes very well that this type of hype is being generated in the mainstream media.

Hmm...pricing seems to be a bit off. I'd say it'll start around $20k.

Consumers are demanding more unique and personal means of transportation, not generic styles and configurations. So sport coupes and performance cars fit the bill so as long as they're compatible with todays fuel prices that dictate engines get better and higher gas mileage. My bet is that GM will start equipping the Camaro with more fuel efficient engines/technology sooner than later to keep the car relevant with the times, and thus consumer interest. Then we'll probably see a smaller more fuel efficent Camaro after this generation has been put out to pasture. All this hype around the Camaro being "too late' is just that, hype. Our country runs hype for crying out loud.

YAH Funny, but if you know how to really drive and shift, the Civic Si IS A BLAST. Very quick and handles great for FWD. You just need to beat the $hit out of it.

Until the transmission starts popping out of third gear.

Remember that overpriced estimates will make the real price look better to potential buyers. By overshooting the price, Chevrolet will prove wrong the paper and make more sales.

I'd take a WRX Sti or a Lancer Evo over a Civic Si any day.

You know your Si's. I had synthetic trans fluid put in mine and its much better.

The car I had b4 my current 07 black Si sedan(manual only) was a loaded 07 Acura TL Type-S fully modded. I got bored with the slow paddles with the 5 speed auto. I have alot more fun in my Si then my $40k TL-S.

I now want A V8 LS3 manual.

Personally I'll stick with my solstice GXP over one of those Japanese car's.

260/260 in a 2900lbs ride that looks 100 times better then those cars.

And about 10k cheaper then the STI or Evo.
