Is Gas Baffle Broken?

I just got a new 2010 1LT Camaro on Dec.12 2010...love it!!! But i just recently noticed that I can hear the gas sloshing around when the car moves..is the baffle broken inside the gas tank?? This is covered by warranty right?? Why would this break, if it is brand new??

I got my Camaro Dec. 12, 2010. I looked up baffles on the internet. Cars have a baffle in the gas tank to help the gas from not sloshing around. It is a type of guard that separates some of the gas tank. I have an appointment on Tues. morning to get it checked out. I'll let you know what really happened...

I wouldn't waste your time.

It's not like a foam filled race fuel cell. Small baffles in the bottom of car/truck tanks keep a small supply of fuel around the pickup in the bottom at all times.

Above that is just open space. You will hear sloshing. All they are going to do is joy ride your car for a lunch run to Jack in the Box.

Bump the radio a couple notches and enjoy.

You need to go back to the future, where you came from, and have it fixed. You may want to have your flux capacitor inspected while you are there as well. The good news is that your Camaro should have no problem getting to 88 mph.

I don't think the tank has a baffle, why would it. The tank has two sides, one on each side of the driveline tunnel.

I noticed a sloshing around a while back as well... Seems everyone has this.
I've never owned a car where I could hear the gas slosh around...

The baffle would be there to stop fuel starvation in a sharp turn lowish on fuel.

Which the early 3rd gens didn't have, my 86 3rd gen doesn't. anything much below half and a nice down grade sharp turn will produce a nice sputter half way through the turn as it sucked air for a sec, fuel injectors love that stuff

They added them when they went to the plastic tanks.

Though around the filler neck is usually a baffle too.
So it backs up the filler before your really over full.
Raw gas in the vent lines isn't cool.
