can 315 fit into stock rims and wheel arch?

hey folks,
I 305 is nice, but with added horsepower and torque some more rubber sometimes would be nice. I was wondering if there's a wider tire that can fit on standard wheels and standard ride height on the z28?

Stock setup (suspension and wheel well) sure. Stock 9.5" wide wheel, I would not.

Personally, I have...

285/35/20 on 20x10's
315/35/20 oon 20x11's

That's on stock suspension and it's fine, but starting next weekend I'm installing a bunch of BMR stuff and Pedders coilovers. Planning to drop probably 1.25". Should not be any clearance issue.

One thing you'll likely need to do is zip tie back your parking brake cables. I had to do that at stock height and expect even more so lowered.

Z/28s have 11×19 (F) and 11.5 x19 (R). 315s shouldn't be a problem.

thanks folks, I was also not pushing for 20". rotating mass is a big deal on track, unless I want to spend a ton of money on VERY light 20" rims, there's no advantage to move to 20.

Yes - you can fit 315 on stock wheels. I have run Cup 2 as well at RT660 in 315 with no issues.

I'm running 315 sport cup 2's front and back. Stock everything and have tracked with these 315's and no issues at all. I'm not sure why non-Z28 members are supplying info about their cars?

ahahah totally.
I've asked about stock rims and we got 20" , people without a z/28 , non symmetrical setups ... this is the joy of the internet

I should have posted something like:
"Hey, I've tracked the z/28 with a square 315/30/19 setup and rubber keeps hitting the wheel arch, this is a stupid setup!"
and let everyone go crazy on replies to educate me on the fact that 315 is actually a viable setup

I would have had my answer anyway and I would also had some fun

I'm glad the community is helpful especially since Camaro has ended production.
