So if you'd rather get a 'vette...
...you might need to help the cause and buy one soon. Things are not looking good for Chevy's halo car.

If the article is correct about the sales possibly dropping from people who buy it due to style is correct.... I wonder how sales will do with the Corvette Stingray concept...

I have a feeling the Camaro SS put a pretty good dent in the 'vette's numbers.

The Corvette will pull through, but I agree with some of the comments on it's price. Upper middle-class men are probably it's #1 market niche, and getting the wife to go along with $100,000 for a toy is pressing your luck.

i've yet to see something that can sustain continuous growth, it's nearly impossible. just like the stock market, everything takes a hit (sometimes big) at some point. it either dies, or starts to grow again. for the vette i don't think i can see it disappearing. just my .02

Lets be frank - this car has basically looked the same since 97. Stick a fork in it already or do the long overdue redesign...and not a "Hey we got all these performance and handling upgrades but basically it looks just like the C5 without the pop up headlights" redesign, something that Joe Average will actually notice. The C6 didnt deserve the title, at best it was the C5 1/2. Whoever the lead exterior designer on the C6 was had the easiset job in engineering history ..."Ok, lets shorten this thing a little bit..........hmmn, maybe now we'll put some fixed headlights on.......there! Done!" Unacceptable.

It'll be fine. Notice it still sold double the number of the next-highest-selling car in the segment. The entire market is down for full-on sports cars.
Besides, the car was designed to be built at low numbers, so while this is...bad...news. It's not catastrophic. GM people have said on occasion last year that the car "pays its bills". ![]() Quote:

Long live the Vette!
P.S. BIG difference in C5 and C6. The C6 is the sweetest corvette yet! Huge difference in C5 Z06 and C6 Z06 too.

Time to launch the C7. I personally love the C6 and will be sad to see it go.

The number 1 recognized nameplate in the industry isn't going anywhere.
