370z

How would the V6 Camaro fair against the 370z?

Low 13's with a solid trap of 105+. They also handle very well... My guess is not too well...

Camaro SS > 370z > V6 Camaro

What's funny is over in the 350Z/370Z forums they argue about which car has run faster times (the 350z or 370z). So far the fastest stock time I've seen (over in the 370z forums) from a 370z is 13.1 @ 106 mph.

Most the guys are running high 13s or so in stock 370z.

Just went to the Edmunds web site. This is what they say about the 370Z

"Performance:

Cranking out a robust 332 horsepower, the 3.7-liter V6 in the 2010 Nissan 370Z is a bit like the corner diner's coffee — plenty strong but just not all that refined. It delivers plenty of thrust spread out across a broad power band. Indeed, with 5.5-second 0-60-mph and 13.7-second quarter-mile times."

This was the touring addition they tested. Base was over $41k! As tested $44K! Thats $7K more than my 2SS/RS for christs sake.

BTW the 350Z numbers from Edmunds are "In our tests, that amounts to an impressive 0-60-mph time of 5.3 seconds and a quarter-mile in 13.7 seconds at 103.6 mph."

As far as the V6 camaro goes, its pretty much 0=60 in 6.1 sec and 1/4 mile in 14.5 (as tested by car and driver magazine)

So either Z is faster than the Camaro. However, it will cost you over $12K more. If ya can afford the 370Z then save a few grand and get an SS and blow those jap cars away.

Undoubtedly the Z's will beat us, but at what price? If you're going to buy based on performance you'd be a fool to take the Z over the SS. If you're buying based on looks, well then that's a no brainier..

Unfortunately, the shoe-car is like the V6 Camaro's "Corvette"...similar power, but smaller, lighter, and missing two seats. So -- it's going to be faster, at the cost of practicality and (imo) style.

C&D recently tested a 370 and hit 4.7 0-60. I belive R&T mirrored those numbers as well. Edmunds always has the slowest times, regardless of the car. FWIW, a new 370 w/sports package can be had for about 32k OTD.

I'd take a Z over a V6 Camaro. I was actually looking at them but I wanted a four seater since I have 8 yr old twins and like to take them to meets and show with me. Prob with the Z is the four seat version looks like shit.

In nearly every respect, the 370 is closer to the SS. The only reason you would compare it to a V6 Camaro is because they're both V6 cars of a similar displacement. Otherwise it makes a lot more sense to use the SS.

i think magazines do that sometimes cuz they dont want their favorite cars to lose..
like in every respect camaro competes with Mustang gt but any mustang fan with jump and say it doesnt beat the mustang look at the shelby. which ford made shooting for corvette sales.
like hyundai gensis told of the line with track package pricing at like $32K up against a $24K Camaro V6..
here if u didnt see vid.. motortrend did one too
