Anyone with V6 change their own diff and tranny fluid?

I got all the supplies but was wondering if others would share their experiences. The V8 writeup was great and was wondering if anyone with a V6 could do something like that. As always any help is appreciated thank you

what fluids did you get? i'm figuring all that myself...

right now i'm looking at Mobile 1 75w-90 for my M6 Tranny (meets the GL5 spec the manual requires).

what are V6 people using for their fluids for tranny/differential? I've done several searches and it seems like i keep finding SS info...

i might be doing this this weekend.... if the weather is nice i might be able to try to take pictures if i can keep my hands clean!

Hey I bought redline differential fluid because from what I read it already has the additive in it. I bought mobile 1 extended performance 5W30 , for tranny fluid I bought Dexron VI because it was in the manual, but it doesnt say how much you need of the tranny fluid or the differential fluid. If you get a chance to do it yourself let us know what you find out, any tips that you might think of and maybe breakdown the process of how you went about doing it. Thanks for replying, i noticed too that everything was V8 related.

actually the manual does day how much... its in the next section . its 1 qt for the differential, 2 quarters for M6 tranny, 6.7 qt for A6 Tranny (see pages 11-2 and 11-3)

we'll see how it goes!

Yes, I have a automatic, 2LT and changed my differential fluid yesterday.

I used a quart of Royal purple 75W/90 that I bought at O'Reilly's.

Old fluid was gray and stinky. I couldn't tell if there were no metal shavings in the old fluid.

The quart I put in didn't seem to fill it up to the fill hole. I'm wondering if I should buy another quart and put some more in?

I did the differential saturday (994 miles) ... I took some good pics and i'll post up a quick DIY soon.

I used Royal Purple Max Gear 75w/90 that already has the friction modifier in it.

oil fuild was very gray (i read somewhere there's something in it that makes it that color, but that it goes away after a couple thousand miles???)... and it indeed smells horrible.

I put in a full quart with a little pump, and it didn't drip OUT of the whole, but i stuck my pinky in there, and i could feel it just below the hole, should be perfect.

After some research, I've decided to wait a little bit on the tranny fluid swap....
