First Oil Change and Tire Rotation today.

Did my first oil change and tire rotation today and recieved some expensive news. See my car was a dealer program car and had 14,000 miles on it when I bought it. Got a great deal on it though. So I took her to the Chevrolet dealership and had Mobil 1 oil change done and was about to do the tire rotation when I was told that he would recommend I not rotate them. He said the rear tires have 3/32 tread left and the fronts were at 8/32. He said I needed new rear tires. So I asked how much to two Pirelli's Zero Nero 245/50/Zr19 tires? $170 a piece!!!! Wow. So I told them to go ahead and get them on. Today ended up costing me $420.00!!! Talk about sticker shock. Looks like the dealer was having a Great time with my ride before I got it. Oh well, alls well eventually ends well. I love my car and she is worth it.

Ok that doesn't make sense, because if you have the RS package you have 20inch wheels and tires and are offset from the front and back, so you can't rotate the tires that way. So why are you getting 19inch tires for a 20inch wheel? Unless you don't have the RS package.. I'm confused here??

Thats illegal to do. That car must have everything on it that came from the factory. The detail sheet on my car says it includes 20' wheels if they say that and it doesnt the dealership can get into hella trouble

Or Maybe that was what he was trying to tell me, why he couldn't rotate them. Anyway they had to replace the back ones. Maybe they are 20's, will have to check it out.

If you have the RS package (and its corect) would have to be 20's in which case $170 is CHEAP for the Pirellis P Zeros that fit (they are $219 at tirerack). However you mentioned P Zero Neros... Those are not available in the correct size for the front or rear 20 inch wheel. The 19's however they are.

$384.00 for a warranty on a $860.00 set of tires? That does NOT make sense at all.

That price isn't bad. I was trying to find a price for the 20" tires for the RS but all the online sites had call for quote on these tires. I was just curious since my tires are brand new so I didn't call. I hope to get 12-14k miles out of the back tires, if I take it easy a bit. I was thinking these tires were actually more than that price. Those of you who have bought high performance tires in these sizes in the past should expect something like this. I spent about 180 per tire on my GTO and that was 17" rims.

After less than 16k on my 550i, they needed to be replaced. Dealer quoted me $1050 for just the rear two. I asked him if he was on crack! Tire Rack was about $300/tire. At $170/tire, Throw in an extra set for good measure.
