Installed my Dynatech LT and CAI today

Installed my LT and CAI today. Wow what a difference!! Headers suprisingly were very easy to install took only about 2.5 hours that is with removing the left header one extra time and crawling around on the ground. The CAI a little difficult because I had to cut down the tube to fit Maggie. not a real big deal though. Roads were wet today so did not have a chance to get on it at all. Hoping it clears up by morning so I can give a real spin.

They can't deliver the car with headers due to emiision regulations. Car came with SLP Blackwing CAI w/K&N filter. It is just not that good, so I changed it.

I'm installing my Dynatech LTs soon and have a couple questions. How high off the ground did you have the car and did you need to take off the steering cloumn or oil dip stick?

what do you mean emision regulations? as long as they had cats on the car with header it shouldn't have been a problem

I had the car about 15"-18" off the ground in the front only. The only problem I had due to height is I could not remove the left side complete. I had to take 1 of the bolts and loosen the other that connect the manifold and cats so that it would pivot. Yes I had to remove the steering column and the dipstick. Over all it was not very hard. Good luck you can PM me if you want I will answer anything I can.

I just know when you buy headers they typically state that they are "for off road use only". Plus this car has to be emmisson legal in 50 states. I don't think headers would pass California standards.I am sure someone out there can confirm if this is correct or not.

Some states are more picky than others and some don't have emission tests. For the picky states, you not only have to have cats but they have to pass a sniffer test and a visual test. If you physically move the cats from the OEM location, that is considered tampering with the emissions system and will be immediately failed, depite the sniffer test results.
