Barton install question?
I installed my Barton short throw shifter 2 weeks ago and the install went easy,I did not re-use the original mounting plate ring thats under the car and held in by 2 10mm bolts.A friend of mine who replaced his a few days ago said he put the mounting plate back with his shifter. The instructions dont say either way.I will call Barton in the morning but I figured someone out there might know.

I think I might be able to answer this LOL. NOTHING is reused from the stock shifter. The only thing that is reused is the pin and 2 clips that connects the linkage to the bottom of the shifer.
Hope this helps. |

Thanks...I will tell my friend to remove the old one even though it is very thin I think it might throw the alignment off.
