Windshield Wiper Post Cover

Okay, so I open my hood yesterday and found one of the plastic covers to the windshield wiper post laying by the hood hinge. It looks like its supposed to have 3 prongs holding it in place, but 2 of the 3 were broken off. I checked the other cover and with very little effort, it came off and it had 1 of the 3 prongs broken off.

Is anyone else having any problems with these?

Does anyone know if they make aftermarket covers that aren't plastic?

Thanks,

Matt

Legend's was already broke when I touched it...just ask him!

This appears to be a recurring problem on the driver's side. I've gone through two now. Would love to find an aftermarket solution that works better. I got a replacement from the dealer for $6.50 or so.

Anyone have this problem on the passenger side? Curious...

Both of mine broke Pete. My passenger side was actually the one that was laying over by the hood hinge. I'm going to check with a few machine shops in town and see if they can make me some and see how much it will cost. I will let everyone know when I find something out.

It's a little black plastic cover right at the base of the windshield wiper. It covers the nut that attaches the wiper to the car. They break off very easily.

They aren't too exposed to the elements because the hood still covers them when down, but these cars are new. Just didn't expect these little things to break yet. Pretty minor, but I want mine perfect!
