color halo install effect
i saw a video on how to install color halo on the camaro and it had an option to put the factory halo back on just to be cut of the top to fit. Has anyone has had this step done on their halo installation on rs camaro. If so what is the effect or result with it, is it a better effect? from what i can see from the video the led light sort of like transfers the the factory halo giving it a more like flush or ccfl affect instead of seeing indiviual led light up. Anyone please comment.

I installed behind my factory ring as well. I didn't like being able to see each individual LED once the lights were on so I decided to place them behind the halo. You have to cut the bottom of the halo off at the stem. I wish I had pics but at the time I wasn't really taking many. You have to cut the stem off otherwise the LED ring won't fit behind the halo as the stem blocks it from lining up and seating properly. Another thing and this is just minor, but the factory halo isn't a perfect circle and the LED ring is. It doesn't complicat things too much but you have to seat the ring and make sure you hold it in place while you or someone screws the factory halo and it's housing back on. I had to loosen mine back up and reseat it a couple of times to ensure the edges of the LED ring weren't sticking too far out on the left and right sides of the halo. The best way to do that is to test the LED ring with a battery to see what it looks like and make sure you are happy with the results. I used a 9 volt battery and that was plenty of power to light those up. Overall though, I'm definately happy with the results. Up close you can still somewhat see the individual LEDs but if you back up a little, the halo diffuses the bulbs enough and looks more solid like CCFL tubing. Hope this helps.
