Installing Vinyl

I just bought a large sheet of 3M DiNoc Carbon Fiber vinyl for the roof of my car. I want to do it myself but I do not want to mess up and waste money. I was wondering if anyone knows how much something like that would cost to install. Or is it pretty easy to install a large piece of vinyl? I would also have to remove the sharkfin on the roof to install they vinyl, is it difficult? Thanks

Soap & Water, and a hair dryer to help the vinyl expand in areas it's needed vs. just pulling it to stretch it.

Take your time, use a well lit and as dust free area as you can. The key is plenty of soapy water.

Do it yourself I have done several hood scoops and decals kits for 4th Gen's as well as several hundred decal sets for my car show display stands.

Approx $200-$300 for the install from a shop

I guess it depends on where you live. Vinyl shops here charge 50.00/hr labor and I assume that is a 1-2 hr job so...But I will be honest with you. Since you don't seem like you have done it before I would take it to a shop..... Especially if you have to cut it. Also to save a buck or two remove the fin yourself so they don't charge you for that as well.

I did my hood spears and gills and door stills on my own...But then when I went after the hockey stripes...well lets just say there was a waste of money...I got smart and went to a shop for the bigger areas of my whip.

You dont need soap and water for di-noc.. It is actually really simple to install! Have a heat gun and youll be set.. The vinyl has these channels that its easy to get bubbles out and it stretches pretty far with some heat added to it..

What I would do is have a couple people hold in and run over it real quick with a heat gun to make it stretchy and then pull tight over the roof.. Then just go over it and make it straight and smooth..

I've been seriously considering getting my whole car wrapped in vinyl, though not the carbon fiber - flat black is what I'd do. I have no idea what kind of cost I'm looking at here and I don't know of a place in or near Tallahassee, Fl that could do it. Maybe Tampa or Orlando...

I was looking at a couple videos on youtube and it actually does not look to hard. It looks like its pretty easy as long as you keep it heated up.

I am going to do it myself, it seems pretty forgiving so hopefully I don't waste $135+. I just ordered it yesterday so its gonna take a week or so to get here. I will post pics after the install. I am also going to clear coat it to give it more of a wet look. I am going to try it on my bowties first, since I have those installed already. Here is a pic of it:
