question about 22s

i've been thinking about wheels for my 2ss and been going back in forth between 20's and 22's. my question is will i be able to do suspension upgrades if i were to run 22's?

thanks
paul

Just remember, the bigger the wheels the slower the car will be off the line. Personally I would rather have 18" or 19" wheels.

hotckis has a complete suspension package that includes lowering springs, sway bars, chasis brace, new bushings etc. and george i don't plan on racing it. i'm doing mild performance upgrades and upgrading the looks and sound system.

Come on George, it isn't that simple.

Factory 20 with 275 wide isn't exactly a traction monster. 22 inch with a 315 tire has more traction. Yes, lighter wheels will accelerate quicker, but you said off the line. That means traction, period.

But forged 22" wheels should weigh less then cast 20" wheels.

I had a set of 19" 1 piece forged wheels that were very strong and weighed 17#

Also compare different tire brands/models, some tires of the same size can vary 3-4# each.

I think Michelin Pilot PS2 tires are lighter then other brands of the same size.

Not quite sure, but 1 pound more on a wheel/tire is like 20 pounds added to the weight of the car=unsprung weight.
