Work in progress.....

So I thought I would chime in with my current plans.....

Davenport is doing their 650 HP stage three package for my car right now. (chrome blower) Hopefully I'll go pick it up in 10 days or so. Also getting the new PFADT coil overs and sway bars. (I had very seriously considered waiting to allow Steve to do a 416 or 427 LS3 motor but Steve says there is still much R&D to be done and getting parts remains a challenge. Upgraded fuel systems and pulley systems being the major problem. I don't want to wait so....650 package it is.)

I have had extensive discussions with Iggy at Azzkikr bikes in Langley for the next stage. (These guys build the type of bikes you see on American Chopper). I have decided to go with a Siebon BB hood, ST Trunk, OEM gfx in carbon fiber. Iggy will then modify the CF hood with a ZR1 window. We will paint the car so we have exposed CF rally stripes. I had considered going with the Hennessey GFX in fiberglass and then get them wrapped in CF. They quoted $3k which was expensive but fine. THEN I find when I get the invoice that is only for THREE pieces. The sides and front....NOT the rear fascia....Sorry guys but that is WAY too expensive for three parts and they won't sell the rear fascia.

I have ordered a heritage grill and also an amber KITT light from the guy in the UK. I have ordered a FULL under hood dress-up package from Showstoppers. This will be rally yellow with a CF detail on the top as well as a full set of chrome caps from Billet Anything.

Iggy will also be doing a yellow kevlar CF interior trim treatment on basically everything. (when he is able to get the CF material from the States). He will also arrange for a custom yellow leather interior. Exact details have yet to be made. Finally he will cover the fuel rail covers in the same yellow kevlar material.

Finally I have to decide on wheels and tires. (VERY remote possibility of Iggy doing a mini-tub so I can fit 12.5 inch wheels and 345 tires. It looks to be an expensive proposition just to have tires 30 mm wider. Iggy has to spend some serious time under the car to see how much time it would take. We will see).

Right now I'm leaning toward the Savini SV25 wheels in chrome with yellow accenting and a CF lip in a 20 inch.

I have had discussions about the potential of painting it the Bumblebee colour. Again, it is probably unlikely but the final decision has yet to be made.

No plans for brakes right now. MAY upgrade later to the front CTS V brakes and get the calipers powder coated yellow but that is a definite....'maybe later.'

Also a full set of AAC Style lights. Dual colour halos, white and amber. Also the LED side marker lights and LED bowtie for the back. Also interior lights.

SHOULD be done by early July.....I hope.

I'm building this car JUST the way I want it and all at once. First and last time.

Wish me luck.

Sounds cool. Getting all of that done at once may take a little longer than you expect. There is always something that will hold you up. I'm doing mine little bits at a time.
Suspension was first, blower second, then the wheels. Ground effects are still in the box.
Good Luck!!! It will be worth it!!

SO picking the car up (hopefully) June 12th at Davenport and going to try and join the Alberts folks at Banff.

Having delays on the exterior parts though. Having trouble getting the Siebon parts. I have bought the heritage grill a Barton trigger shifter as well as spent a large amount of money with AAC Style. Went with the colour shift halo, foglights, rear bowtie, side markets and some other bits and pieces.

Also order the under hood dress up pieces from Showstoppers as well as a complete set of chrome billet caps.

So I just called Steve / Namalal at Davenport to confirm the details for picking the car up on Saturday. I'm getting the colour shift halo, foglight and rear bow tie as well as painted / tinted LED side markers and have to confirm they would arrive in time.

In the background there is a dyno and car spinning..

"Hear that Shaun?. Thats your car on the rollers. We are at 588 hp and 520 TQ. Almost there on the tune". Says Steve.

So I'm back home.

Davenport did a great job. 591 HP and 525 torque (from memory).

Unfortunately there was a mix up with a courier and getting my ACC liights delivered in time and they have not been installed so that will have to wait. They also appear to have missed a couple of key components but they pretty good, I'm sure they will get them to me. I won't be getting this address until it goes to the body / interior guys anyway.

The Pfadt shocks are wonderful. I'm not an expert on suspension systems but the ride is fabulous. I have booted up and down the freeway a lot....dropped from 6th to fourth on one stretch and opened it out to a slightly illegal speed....feels good and very quick.

Not like my '97 TA vert though. D1 on a 383. The TA scares me. It FEELS like more power then the Camaro but they are about the same. The TA though is LOUD and rough etc.

Not sure the Stainless Works exhaust is quite what I was hoping for. I have yet to listen to it outside though. Still...it does not seem to have the deep rumble I like. Say what you want about a Mustang.....they seem to have lots of systems available with a really rich, deep rumble to them.

However, I have been frustrated at my choices for the hood, trunk and gfx affects. I wanted Siebon stuff but they only have a hood available. The trunk is on back order for who knows how long and the GFX are having to be redone from new molds. No idea how long that will be.

Looking at VIS racing CF GFX as an alternative.

However....the yellow kevlar material is in and I plan on dropping the car off for the interior and hopefully under hood dress up next week.

The exterior may be a little longer :(
