JBL MS-8

Goes in showstyle Monday morning. Gary Biggs will be doing the install and setup. The LCD will be installed up where your homelink and sunroof controls are replacing the Seatbelt/airbag screen for the attachment point!

I fully recommend finding your local JBL car audio dealer and having one installed before changing out your B.A. system.. it gives it new life and really creates sound unparalleled to anything else out there. So just imagine what it did to my setup ;-)

Here's a little about the unit!
AUDIO INPUTS

Many factory-installed systems include on-board equalization and crossovers that make simple connection of aftermarket products difficult. The MS-8 includes the signal-summing circuitry, signal-conditioning EQ and time-correction processing that are necessary to reconstruct a flat, full-range, two-channel signal when you use the MS-8 with factory-installed equipment. Aftermarket head units with line outputs provide a flat, full-range, two-channel signal on their front line outputs, so you need to connect only those channels to the MS-8.

Connecting an aftermarket head unit If you’re using the MS-8 with an aftermarket head unit that has RCA-type outputs, connect the head unit’s front left and front right outputs to the MS-8’s line inputs 1 and 2 only. Do NOT connect any other head-unit output signals to the MS-8’s line inputs 3 – 8. During the calibration/setup process, the MS-8 will “normalize” the input signals and derive as many output signals as your speaker system requires.

The JBL MS-8 is an amazing system. Would recommend it. Just make sure you calibrate it properly once installed which is a very time consuming process. Even after 3 months of installing it, I still tweak the frequencies from time to time, but what a difference it made to the sound!

Did you guys replace the stock BA amp with the MS-8 or keep it and install the MS-8 on BA amp outputs?

My BA amp is bypassed as I have a full custom sound system. But with the MS-8 you can run signals direct from your existing amplification with no problems at all and a 100% increase in sound quality.

I'll try and post pics of the new system.. the pics you see above was version 1.
