not a bad idea. Can't imagine any scratches/chips as it's in a place where nothing can get thrown at it.

I did mine this way as well and yes, scuffing it up is a must. Why they went with the faux chrome/silver finish on those bezels is beyond me. Looks like ass. On most any Camaro, no matter what the color, the black bezels look so much better.

Looks awesome. This has been on my list off mods to do since the begining. I even tried to remove the bezels while I had the deck lid close out covers off for painting body color. But could not get my big hands in there to release all of the clips.

How did you release your clips to get these off? I still want to paint mine.

I think 1000 or 1500 grit

I think you could probably use a green scotchbrite pad as well

yes scuff it up with 400 sandpaper into the chrome is dull
