Quarter window and rear window question
Has anyone out there broken or replaced their rear quarter window or rear window?
The reason I'm asking is that we think that at least the quarter window is actually a polycarbonate/plastic and not glass. We had some issues getting 3M tape to stick properly even when the "glass" was thoroughly cleaned and prepped with alcohol to remove any possible residue. |

I doubt it's polycarbonate. We'd be hearing people complain about it getting scratched up by now.

Will that effect window tint? I plan on getting them tinted soon.

I did get through to one tech at GM and all he would say is that it was a petroleum based product that the window is made of. He was intentionally very vague and wouldn't say any more
We did find that things will stick if you use an adhesion promoter, but now I'm curious as to what it really is. I'll post more if I find out more. I'm thinking it might be Exatec they're using it for some of the panoramic roofs on some cars and it has an anti-abrasion layer. http://www.exatec.de/products.aspx I dont think window tint would be effected since it goes on the inside.
