Anyone ever driven through a Tornado or flood?

Like the title suggests, I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever driven through a tornado or flash flood? before I get into my ridiculously long story, I just want to thank god that I wasn't driving my Camaro (for the first time in months)

For those of you unaware, The last tornado to touch down in Billings, Montana was in July of 1958.. So It's safe to say they are fairly uncommon.
Today, my girlfriend and I were out on the rims ( sandstone cliffs) and when the weather started to turn we decided to head back to her car. about 20 feet from her car it started to rain very heavily. Luckily we made it to the car just in time, and head back on the highway to get home. Now, my girl hasn't been driving for very long and the rain and going 50 mph scared her so I just had her pull over till she felt comfortable with the amount of rain comin down. So we get down by a creek that is just below my house and pull over into a school parking lot because it begins to rain heavily again... and this time we end up getting stuck in the car for close to an hour! This school was my elementary school, so I knew exactly what it was when the tornado siren started going off. I told her we needed to go so we headed towards my house. as soon as we get to were the creek intersects the road.. of course, the road is completely flooded! so we turned around. by this time she was freaking out, and I made her let me drive. heading back the other way to my house she screams and starts freakin out so i stop, and see a (what seemed to be) huge tornado maybe a mile ahead of us. Now at this point I really had no choice but to keep heading towards it to get back on the highway and floor it away from the tornado. I saw the tornado touch down probably less than a 1/4 mile away from us. one hand on the wheel, and one hand on the girl I navigated my way all the way around the flooded city going to her house only to see a huge funnel cloud forming that way. So I turned back around and somehow managed to get home... Very intense drive. I surprised myself with how calm I was, especially with how much she was freaking out!

Long story short.. Tornadoes/floods = SCARY
Dodge stratus (seems to)= better control in the flooded streets

down by the creek where we stopped

few of the tornado

Some damage and flooding

I'm glad you're both safe!! That is scary. We drove through flash floods while in Hawaii last month. We had a Lincoln Towncar so I wasn't as worried as I would have been if we were in a smaller car.

There are no Camaros to rent on Kauai, we tried. :( The airline lost our luggage and the rental car company felt so bad they upgraded us to the Town Car for free. We couldn't pass it up, it was a nice car.

I love Florida, but I don't think I could live there just because of the hurricanes. And the humidity is ridiculous! lol
