Does a 2SS have a 16gal. or 19gal. gas tank?

Hey guys, i have a question about the gas tank. When I fill the car up and trust me I have to fill it from empty at times, it takes only 16gal. I was under the assumption that the car had a 19gal. tank, am I wrong or did some odd reason did I get a mix up from the factory?

You can get 16 to 17 gallons if you fill up soon after you hit the 'low fuel' indication. There are a couple gallons left in the tank at that point, which is the case with most cars nowadays.

i would be worried if you were regularly filling up with 18-18.5 gal at a time... talk about cutting it close!!!

If you go through your information screen it estimates about how many miles you have left before you run out. Take you mpg and figure out how many you have left.

Except when you get to the low fuel area. Once that message comes on your miles to empty will only display "Low Range"

Yeah, once the bell goes off and you get the low fuel message you can no longer see the fuel range. The "E" on the gauge doesnt necessarily mark the spot where it says low fuel either.

Most cars today have about a gallon or two left when the computer says 0 miles to empty. There is an empty reserve built in to help prevent you from running out of gas (as that is both annoying and bad for the fuel pump). Also, chances are you won't be able to pickup all the fuel. You could "run out" with a half gallon or even a gallon left in the tank.

Yeah that's why I'm asking, because when i get to display the low fuel warning i really have no idea how much fuel I have left. So when i end up filling her up it comes to 16-16.5 gallons. Okay thanks everybody I was thinking that I had a tank swap from the factory, that would've bugged the hell out of me.

Since were on the subject of fuel how many miles has everyone gotten from they're 2SS? I'm heading out to San Diego from the El Paso area and wanted to see how many miles a tank can hold on the freeway.

All models have a 19 Gallon tank.

I've personally been getting close to 300 Miles on one tank in city driving.

I've been looking at my gauge when the Low Fuel message pops up. It seems to come on when it drops below 50 miles.
