Angry K&N CAI installed, now getting CEL

Not really a CEL, but the computer says to "lower the window, then raise it." Did it a couple times and it's still there. Double-checked everything, car runs fine, but that error is there (unless it is over-ridden by the hood being open message). What should I do?

get out your manual and read about re-indexing your window

How do you like the new cai?

Does it say the passenger side? Lower and raise it from the passenger door.

Tried re-indexing multiple times per the manual, still getting the error.

I've heard that, too...maybe that will take care of it.

Liking it other than this error, lol. Very easy install and looks great. Getting ready to take it out and see how it drives/sounds.

It will go away...

I had the same thing. It took about 5x following the manual on indexing and then it magically disappeared. Are you getting any whistling on acceleration? I am and didn't notice it right after install.

I have the whistling as well. Everyone has said it's normal but I don't like it. At 2500 Rpm's it sounds like a brake squeak, not a whistle like it's sucking air. All I can say is turn up the radio or shut the windows and hope people don't look at your car like there is something wrong with it.

Mine said that aswell, you get that after disconnecting the battery. Reindexed mine , no problems. Mine whistles too, but its normal, my AFE intake had a slight whistle to it aswell on my 05 Dodge Ram HEMI.

i have the whistle as well on mine. had the aircharger first and had BIG problems...loud whistle, engine bogging down, poor mileage. Now have typhoon and havent had problem. Still small whistle but believe its just so much air coming through filter under a load.

For the windows you have to put them down and then up but when putting up hold the button for at least 2-3 seconds when it gets to top. Have to do it for both sides in order to reset computer for the windows.

Just yesterday and today noticed that intake wasnt as loud when give it little gas...might just be me since ive been driving my tahoe alot lately which has K&N and flowmaster that makes it pretty good.

I have the K&N as well. No whistling issues. I had to reindex a few times to get it back. Try lowering the window and hold the button down for 5 seconds and then, raise it up and hold the button up for 5 seconds. This worked for me.
