Turbo's you can adjust boost WAY easier than superchargers...

Want more hp? Dial in more boost with a push of a button.

Not to mention if tuned properly MPG will increase.

Superchargers are more streetable and will also return better mileage when tuned properly.

Yeahh.. superchargers tend to be more reliable too. My turbo on the supra was a pain in the buttocks!

SC is also a bolt on while turbo is way more complicated to install. Also requires turbo headers and way more tubing. I like the no lag power of a SC.

I'm really not against turbos. If Mr Banks likes em that's good enough for me.

But I don't see the need for adjustable boost. If I dont' want all that boost then just don't pedal it as much.

In a v6 with twin turbo's, you wont see turbo lag unless your driving under 2k rpm's or you use big turbo's.

Besides, boost is just a shift a way.

Superchargers are NOT more fuel efficient than turbo's. You will always have the parasitic loss of the belt, however on the turbo when under cruise the turbo will not be causing any loss.

The reason for adjustable boost is for running a reliable street setup and then raising the boost while running higher octane fuel to run a race setup. For example, lets say the standard street 91octane file on a turbo kit for the v6 makes 450hp, the 100 octane file will be around 500hp.

Right...but they're very very very very close.

The new TVS (Twin Vortices Series) units from Eaton/Magnuson are nearly as efficient as an eqivilant-boost turbocharger. When tuned properly, people are actually noticing fuel-mileage increases. They've got a 160° twist on a 4-lobe "rotor" in addition to a bypas valve for low-rpm cruising (1/3 hp to spin at cruise). So all in all, the parasitic loss of the belt on these units is roughly equivilant to the parasitic loss of compressed exhaust gases in a turbo system. They really are a neat design.
