LS3 doesnt seem to have alot of H/C guys?

LS1 had many H/C combo's over the yrs..
Doesnt seem that many Camaro owners are going H/C setups

WHERE ARE YOU GUYS

Tough to justify the cost of cylinder heads when the LS3 Heads are SOOOO Good.

There really isn't much room for improvement on the LS3 heads, Unlike the LS1s that have a lot of room for improvement.

LS1 made 320 hp
LS3 makes 425 hp that is a Huge difference which makes it harder to improve on.

Our Untouched LS3 Long Block is making 742 RWHP so Why take it apart?

Ted.

Yes we have made over 650RW so far with FI & cam using tock heads too...
Never really thought about it but I guess your right Ted, just not worth the expense as the gains arent that good?

Looks like a Maggie and cam setup will suffice

I've done 4-5 LS3/L92 heads/cam setups so far. The porting on these heads is usually worth around 20-25, not nearly as substantial as the older LS heads that could pick up 60rwhp.

We have made 500RW in a couple of 2010 C6 with a cam only setups too
Still a solid 25RW wouldnt be a bad upgrade..

We only saw 4RW from a LSXR102 which imo was not too good.
The LSXR seems to help a FI setup but doesnt do much on a stock cube NA setup.

There are some H/C cars around. Alot of people just don't post on boards (they do read them though). As you know JS,it's not about the peak hp #'s,it's about the average power. With a set of good head work you can gain alot across the board. We like to get the work done, mill them to alot higher compression and run a small cam.Stock drivabilty (as low as 1100rpm in 1st gear) with a good power of 500hp/450-470tq and peak at 6200rpm.You could also go all out and hit 550hp but I'm not a fan of how the cars drive in traffic.

This is exactly how I like to build them. Simple, effective, easy to tune, power everywhere.

IMO, these cars need compression and TQ to effectively move around 4000lbs + driver + huge wheels + shitty 3:45 gearing.

Totally agree with Don and Damian..

We have been running a 220's-230's 600's 113 to 116 cam setup in these cars
Great drivability and power threw the rpm...
