Muffler Delete?

I'm looking at deleting my mufflers and keeping the rest of the system stock for now. I read most of the exhaust compilation thread, which is great btw, and I was comparing the magnaflow comp series system to a muffler delete set up. My question is, to the people that have just deleted the mufflers and kept the rest of system stock, are you happy with that set up? Are there any other sound clips available of this set up that are more then just 12 seconds? Basicaly the muffler delete would cost half the price of the magnaflow system so thats a big consideration.

L99 or LS3? the resonator in the middle of the car on the L99 is super restrictive.. I replaced mine with an x-pipe and couldn't believe how much heat was held in the resonator. I am very happy with my exhaust but I had it all redone from the cat back.

Out of all the systems I've had on my car, stock cats with the muffler delete sounded the best. This is on an LS3 car.

I now have the JBA catted midpipes with the stock muffler system. The JBA mids were too loud with a muffler delete.

I like the muffler delete idea too. It's a great way to modify the stock system and get quality sound. The only thing I really want are nice 4" double wall slash cut tips (like magnaflow, solo, SLP). Everything I find is $150/pair. Has anyone seen cheaper tips out there? I found nice 2.25"inet/4"outlet on ebay for $70/pair but they don't have 2.5" inlets.

the muffler delete option is NOT loud at all.. mine sounds great! Its got a low deep sound and is actually quiet at steady cruise rpms.. but you can def hear it when you want to. there is slight decel pop when I add a little gas on decel.. it doesn't really pop until I touch the accelerator.

I, too, have been considering the delete. Is there any videos out there of how to do the delete?

i think a muffler delete is definitely the way to go if ur concerned about price... plus i think it sounds great!

first vid is my car(LS3) and the second is the vid that made me finally decide i was gonna do a muffler delete

That straight piped video was the final assurance I needed before having it done. I have never been happier with an exhaust sound. One of my closest friends has a borla atak axle back and we both agree the delete sounds better! Would highly recommend it!!

Nice to hear how this mod stacks up to the ATAK. You know, I have yet to hear a V8 Camaro with an aftermarket exhaust. I've heard just one V6 RS and it sounded real good. Oh, BigRed...thanks for the link, with the model number I was able to find a pair for $37 shipped on Amazon!
