I like the look of that..but it seems to me those rear hips are Camaro inspired. I like the front end much more than the current Mustang/Shelby..would like to see what this guy did to the rear! (and yes, that's what she said)

You can look on Rob Jensen's website for possible rear end combos http://robjensendesign.com. You will also see some of his early concept art from '04-'06 look like the Camaro too. Sadly, he only designed for Ford for 6 years and quit after the Boss was given the go but at least he left them with some great concepts (that made production). I can see this concept a reality, but will be toned down some... but it looks like a Terminator to me... good work Rob, you will be missed...

Disregard, looking at his site now, most of the concepts are missing (or property of FoMoCo) but I have access to all his drawings.

I am a Camaro fan. But I think unless Chevy pumps up the LSA or gets rid of 250 pounds, the Z28 will be looking at GT500 tail lights. But even so it will be a very cool car.

Since GM is so tight lipped about this Z28 I am willing to bet, now, it gets the full on LS9 to blow everyone away.

That would be cool. But the Z28 would be one expensive beast.

Eh will be a good fight to see...as for Ford can have more HP then GM as i saw someone hit on thats not true neither car is being turely pushed imo...I don't care if you mustang fanboys on here flame me for my view but the way i look at it is the ls/lt, then ss, then z/28 are all in house brands that are Chevy camaro not Chevy SLP Z/28 as where ford goes to Shelby an out side company to get the top end...YES camaro have their's but dealers don't sell those as options from what i saw you have to take your car to them or buy one of the cars they have built... So if you stay in-house Ford themselves don't have a z/28 counter they have to jump to Shelby to make them a car...

PS: that render of the Mustang i would have to say is a nice look

That's a good theory, but with a fatal flaw. The GT500 may have a Shelby name on it, but it is engineered and designed by the SVT team at Ford.

They just license the name from Shelby.

Wrong. The Gt500 is built IN house by ford. Each engine is hand built by a team of two and they sign the engine before it goes out. This thread is funny because so many of you think that the shelby gt500 is actually through shelby america. They have NOTHING to do with it.

You got to remember the first generation of the GT500( in 2007 I mean) wasn't even close to the performance level of the vette. Besides, why would you compare the Top model of any car to the base model of another? The only reason right now that the GT500 is even close to the base vette is because it's been improving
every year and the base vette hasn't really changed much since 2005. What maybe 30more HP now then it had in 2005.
Agee and will add this, take a stock 10 corvette and a stock GT 500 and test them this way.

Drag race, road course, road trip for best MPG. It really isn't even a close contest.

Two totally different cars.

Depends on how you define 'close'......

After the dust had settled, the Ford Shelby GT500 came out as the winner. It can hang right with the Corvette Grand Sport in acceleration and handling—and in some cases, such as the skidpad, even outperform it. What’s more, the Shelby’s starting price is about $6000 less, while its as-tested price is almost $13,000 less. Don’t get us wrong: The Corvette Grand Sport is one heckuva good car, and a true bargain in the Corvette world. But the Shelby GT500 is even more of a steal, and without question the most impressive Mustang we’ve ever driven.
