The only reason I can see them boring it out is if they plan on using it in something else like a truck or they plan on having other big power special editions. I wish they'd quit screwin' around and bring back the ford gt so we could see a real power struggle. Ford GT vs zr1

They're obviously testing some kind of changes to the gt500. I would honestly rather they did a TT setup, but I'm biased toward turbos.

1.) You can bet the ZL1 will be making over 600 crank horsepower now. Chevy isnt going to let Ford beat them on this one.
2.) 50k cars now coming stock with this power...give it maybe 5 more years and if a new sports car doesnt run low 13/13 flat stock Ill be shocked. Im talking all V6 pony cars and imports (WRX/STI/Gs etc). |

I agree but I can't imagine a 2013 GT500 will have less than 550hp or the ZL1 hp, do you? It is even going to be a real killer if they make it lighter. I guess Ford just can't let their king pony overtaken in the pony car wars.

Jesus... GT500KR? With Plasma arc cylinder walls who knows how much extra beef the walls have. Give this the Boss/GT350 FR suspension and 305's and this is going to make the GT350 look slow. Remember folks, this 2013 GT500 will be out the same month as the 2012 ZL1... Build date should be 18 Jan, 2012 for the GT500/Cobra. The thing about spy shots is that they are never taken by actual spies... usually a company plant to start a media rumble.. Regardless, this will be a very, very limited car... To lessen the negetive mpg affect a single unit has on the entire fleet average... for the gas guzzler tax...
