I don't think he's talking about dieseling. I believe he's talking about the noise that's coming from the vacuum in the manifold at idle being released.

Isn't dieseling described as knock or pinging? in which case I don't think it's what hapisok is describing.

Dieseling is when the engine continues to run without spark (i.e. when the car has been shut off). Usually it sputters for a second before coming to a stop. The common causes I've heard of (and experienced) are high idle speed or bad AFR.

I don't think that's what he meant, but the video sure would help!

yeah, definitely not dieseling. its sounds like a burst coming out of the intake manifold and back down the air intake when its shut off.

im back on 93 Octane (Shell).

the E85 pumps kept breaking down so i was FORCED to switch. i was having issues with rough starts when it was cold out or after sitting for a 3+ days.

thanks for the info so far...gonna be headed home soon so i'll have a vid up shortly.

so i tried to take a few videos of it...and it wasn't the same. it always has a little sound when shutting off which i consider normal, but every now and then its noticeably louder...NOTICEABLY (like the difference between farting at the mall and ripping one in church...that noticeable)

snort

Hey, your not crazy! Mine does the same thing! I was wondering if it was causing any loss in power? I just noticed it after filling the car up. I've had the car for several years and I've never noticed it before. I have the CAI cold air intake and some other bolt ons but nothing major ....yet . Any input is appreciated!
