The panels on this "slug" (think fake quarter to test coin machines) have not been trimmed out. Its clear this is an assembly test run (for clearance maybe?).. I think thats been echoed by those who work at the plant already. My 3 cents is that this car (slug) may not be testing the entire line so don't expect it to have all of its " boltable sheet metal" including space for the read end attachment. I wouldn't expect much from this... clearly it shows what the exterior mold and lines will be.
Here is evidence.. the sheet metal for for the tailights, headlights, rear valence clearance and front clip have not been trimmmed from the original stampings. There are no clearance or install cut-aways, not just for wiring. UNless GM does it differently? C3 |

WOW Starting to get really interesting. The technology they have to build these cars is amazing. It would be cool to see one of these factories in operation. Absolutley amazing.

I would like to thank the person who just probably got fired for bringing us these glorious pics. So who wants a job up there now? Yes those quarter windows look a bit small, but no worse than the Cobalt coupe. I'd say that's about par for a coupe of this size. It looks like the view out the back window should be pretty decent. Ah what a lovely car, even in such rough form. They got the pony car proportions just right.

Looks like the whole piece under the door-sill from fender to fender will be a trim piece...

I have waited a long time for this. My father was a Chevy salesman back in the 60's and 70's and I learned to drive with Camaros, Chevelles, Impalas and El Caminos. My dream car was a '72 El Camino and in 1990 I finally got one. I spent 8 year restoring it then sold it. My last Chevy was a '91 vette that my son drives now. I loved the first generation F-bodies but from '70 on they just left me cold until '95. I was mad as hell when I heard they were discontinuing the Camaro. But this I really do like (except for the rear tail lights). At first I didnt but it has really grown on me. I have been planning on a CTS for my next car but hey who knows, maybe Ill wait for the new F-body.

Not a good way to earn Job security. I can feel the cries as those Suburbans corner whoever took these in a dark corner of Ontario -- and Scott steps out with his 2x4....Sorry pal; Donald Trump would like to speak to you:

Maybe this is another intentional "leak" to generate hype (It's succeeded at that!)

Just curious, is it me or is the entire rear end one body piece with the roof?
