OP stated he is looking for 08-09 so majority of warranty on either is used up. Warranty issue aside, My larger point was not knowing if someone kicked the shit out of it before you get it. |

Just make sure you test drive it, and buy what you prefer because they are both great cars, but remember that there are other things you can do with the money you save. |

personally, go for a '10 or newer GT500, if you MUST trade it in. |

The good thing about GT500'S is the fact that there are alot of collector type people who buy them who basically drive them on the weekend here and there. With that said , through my search for GT500's its clear which ones have been beat up and which ones have been babied. Im not even considering one that has ANY modifications. Im looking at cars that either are left over at dealerships with no owners, never titled, etc. Or cars with VERY very few miles. And again I thank everyone for their opinions because I am truly torn on what to do.
Superfly03- One of my good buddies has a GT500 and ive been in it many times and i agree the interior is rather drab. And i can also agree with the ZERO traction issue lol. But when that supercharger winds up and those tires stick .................................................. ................................................. .................................................. .... .................................................. ................... ...............................

Be sure to spend as much time at the wheel of a GT500 as you can before you buy. The GT500 while very fast is a straight line car for the most part. You will lose much in the handling department. The Camaro is better balanced front to rear and the GT500 is very front heavy. And I think is heavier overall than the Camaro.
The Camaro to me is more comfortable and refined than the GT500. The pre 2010 GT500 would be a step backward in my book. But they do hold their value well, but then so has the Gen 5 Camaro. |

thing is, if your going to get the Gt500, get the 2011.

Get a post Aug 2008 build and you will get the redesigned clutch that has fewer issues than the '07s and 08's, and still get a good deal. Handling is an easy upgrade. All GT500s have identical suspension geometry, just the '10 has better tuning from the factory, and the 07-09 is way too soft. Swap out the stock suspension with the adjustable Ford racing suspension, and you will outhandle the 2010 GT500, and the Camaro by a longshot. This FRPP suspension is similar to the one they will put on the Boss.

With the money you're thinking about spending, I'd definitely get a GT500 KR.

Couldn't agree more. In the end you gotta do what is going to make you happy no matter what anyone else thinks or says.

I'm an American Muscle kind of guy, so you won't get any flack out of me if you buy a Mustang (hell- I was going to by the Challenger SRT-8 until I found the price tag was $10,000 more than the Camaro). If you have done the math, and the Mustang is really going to be the less expensive route, and it will make YOU happy, then I say go for it. You only get one shot at life, and if you can do something that makes you happy, then I see no reason why you shouldn't do it. My only request is you don't turn in the keys on a Camro for something like a Subaru WRX. Sure the WRX is fast (especially the STI), but there's just something wrong about trading a Camaro for a Subaru.
