SORRY but I just HATE DODGE and FORD.

If no Acura or Honda its ONLY A GM product.

G8 GXP, CTS, Camaro SS.

Camaro wins!!!

The reason people hate the whale is.

dodge appears to have made little effort to make the thing go fast.

its lack of styling.

bulk.

and its overpriced, undergarnished interiors, with Gauges that dont work.

Oh I almost forgot about that. My brother actually got a beretta"GT" it think or what every they added to the name for the high end one. Actually wasn't that bad. Not up to Camaro tho. As for the 4cyl Camaro, heard that before to. The one and only fbod that was a great turbo was the 89 Trans Am. I believe that was another of GM's attempts to find a new home for the Grand National motor.

That was a great motor. I recall seeing a cop dash video of a GMC typhone running from a robbery. Speeds of over 110 mph and when the finally stopped him they found the 1000lb safe snuggly in the back.

If you think the new Camaro was trying to look like a Corvette in the back just because it has 2 lights on each side, may I remind you that that was not a Corvette only styling cue. The 2 lights on each side have been on Chevy's since 1958 with the Bel-Air and Biscayne. the Corvette never had 2 lights on each side until 1961. so if anything the Corvette got it from the full sized Chevys..
Many Chevys throughout the years had two lights per side. As i said the Bel-Air and Biscayne had them from 1958 through the mid 70's except for a couple years.
The Corvair, the 65 Nova the 76 Nova, The Vega, the Cobalt Coupe the last generation of Impala and even the Camaro in 68 on the RS had 2 lights on each side. So in my opinion it is not a Corvette that they took their styling from but it is Chevy Heritage..It HAS a 60 year history. So now if you read the Official Chevrolet press release on the Camaro this car is all about Heritage with a modern touch.

oh by the way I was looking at some old car show pictures I had, and gee even Dodge had some cars with two lights on each side.. were they trying to emulate the Corvette too????
you just don't get it.

The 2 rear pics look identical except the camaro looks like a bad attempt to mimic the vette lights. IMO I would buy a camaro right now if they went with the 71 lights? not sure the year but it looked like 3 square lights all in one line on each side.

A. It does go fast, if you think 4.8 0-60 isn't fast then I dont know.

B. The styling is amazing and far superior to the camaro IMO.

C. It is fat and unfortunately for you camaro hopefuls the camaro is pretty much almost as fat at 3914 a 224 lb difference.

D. It is overpriced and interior is bland, seats are great and gauges work perfectly( what you said sounded a bit fanboyish )

The only thing didge messed up on was the transmission If they would have put a 6 speed auto with performance gearing(which they did with the manual) this car would be must faster than it is. Although it is already fast. Oh and it needed to lose some pounds off of the charger. But some light 18s and some other stuff should take car of that inconvenience.

It's the 69 that you are thinking of. The 67-69 had rectangle tailights.
67 all one lense 68 divided into 2 69 divided into 3
70 - 73 began the 2 round healights for the Camaro

And I Dont find that much resemblence to the Vette tailights. The Vettes are round and Camaro has a rectangle look still. Just the bottoms have a curve and they have a chrome bezil. It is more like they took the rectangle look lights and modernized them a little. And IMHO if they had used the 69's then the Mustang guys would be yelling that they were trying to copy the Mustang tail lights. That was a major point in the last Mustang that the tail lights were retro of the originals.

you don't get the point and btw since someone who actually isn't a deluded fanboy and likes to help out others even though that person isn't getting a gm car showed me that in fact the one I was talking about is the 69 tailights. thanks for the help. It is kinda funny you couldn't even figure it out and he did.
I am through talking to you and your lack of camaro gen knowledge.

Excuse me but I was not online to respond to you statement, someone had already posted about the 69 camaro tail lights, and I had posted 5 pages ago (post number 11) about the round tail lights on the 70-73 Camaros ( to be accurate 70 1/2 to 73)

here is a 71 camaro with CORVETTE Style Tail lights..

Ok guys...that's enough.

Don't make me start deleting posts.

Thanks!

Kevin, if tail lights are the only things holding you back from purchasing a car, change them....aftermarket. Don't miss out on the comeback of the Camaro just because of one thing. That would not be right.

Now, again....no more back and forth.
