Tran,

Any informed word on the rumors that I've heard that GM will be ramping up production this month? I am sitting at 1100 and was told this by my dealer. Several members here have said that the plant is already at capacity for about 400 vehicles per day. Can one of the moderators or members associated with GM please comment?

I am not assiciated with GM but my understanding is the "ramping up" already took place in July. They are producing approx. 450 cars a day, 6 days a week = about 2,700 cars a week. Increased production will not move you from 1100......your dealer having allocation for your order is the only thing that will move you past 1100....I think your dealer is BS ing you if he's saying production rate is why you haven't moved.

Don't take that from your dealer.

I agree. But it's slim pickings when it comes to dealers in my area. Either they are charging way over MSRP or they have no allocation. I went so far as to contact dealers in Ohio and Michigan, but was told the earliest they could get me a vehicle is first quarter next year.(ie February or March)

I really don't see an option but to wait. I am paying less than MSRP. Dealer is great in that he honored my USAA and military discount. I just get the impression they aren't up to date on their info sometimes. I was told they have no control over when GM releases vehicles to them.

I'm not saying you don't have to wait, or shouldn't wait. I'm saying the ONLY reason you will move from 1100 is when your dealer gets an allocation for your order, end of story. If he doesn't get allocation for your order for 3 months, you will stay at 1100 for 3 months. If he tells you anything different he is BS ing you.

Now if dealers could only sell them at MSRP, they would ALL sell!

Try calling Langs Chevrolet in Beavercreek, OH. Selling at MRSP and probably have allocations.

Does anyone know how many orders GM has that have not been fulfilled?

How can the dealer get allocations moved up faster? I am at 3000 with a TPW of 8/3. How long can I expect to wait? Also, my dealer said it would probably be longer since the cars are on "Hold". You know anything about this?

If you are 3000 your dealer has allocation for your order. Once your order moves past 1100, the dealer has allocation. I don't think there's any "holds" on builds. If you have a TPW of 8/3, I suspect you will be built within a week of that date. I am no authority, I just search and read alot on this forum.

Dealers have cars, it may not be the exact model you want. You might have to wait til next year for that. I just looked online and found the color I wanted and a 2LT V6 which is all I could afford and I told him I would pay msrp. If I waited, my trade in value of what i had would of dropped by $1,000 or more anyways. I wish I could of afforded a V8, but sometimes you just have to make the smart choice. By the time some of you get your cars, it won't be such a hot thing and some other company like Ford mught come out with a faster mustang or something. A dealer nearby has 5 Camaro's for sale today. You can get them close to MSRP.

But why is that guy waiting since October, for example??

It's just plain wrong with numbers this big that someone at GM could not get cars to these people that have been waiting months on end.
