Rpepka gets Blown

Wanted to update everyone L99 # 2 has the blower installed. Andy at ADM performance has been the best!

We installed a blower cam from ADM performance, a Yank 2800 stall converter. We removed the AFM, installed stronger springs for higher redline. We should be able to fire it up tomorrow.

So I'm guessing you wanted to be sure to start with a solid foundation so to speak. This is why you got a new car before getting...... well......Blown.

What do you expect the converter to do to the street drive ability?

I had Yank make me a special one. There normal is 3200 which stalls to about 2500-2800 rpm. This one is a 2800 which stalls to 2000-2200. Since stock stalls to about 1500 I felt that it needed to be a bit higher. Dave at Yank said this converter will lock up at 40 to 45 mph. So as as far as streetability I am hoping it is the perfect combination, not stock but not high stall, just a little extra to get into the powerband with better launches also retaining the lock up feature for gas mileage.

make sure to turn off the wot lock up when you tune it or you will burn up the tcc clutch

I am not sure what that means but Andy at ADM Performance is doing the tuning and I am confident that if that needs to be done it will be.

Thanks for the heads up.

only a 3200..... id figure at least a 34-3600 if you planned on racing. tho quick question, are you keeping AFM active or are you tuning it out? if you are keeping it, it would make more sense to go with a lower stall and lockup to be able to still utilize AFM. jw.
