LS3 vs LSA

Anyone know if theres anything really special about the LSA? From what I can tell its basically an LS3 with different heads/cam and a forged crank. And a blower obviously. Other than that alot of the specs are exactly the same as the LS3.

delightfullly informative. its about 130hp, not 200. which can easily be explained with the super charger. takes the super charger off and how much power would it make? most likely the same, if not less than the ls3. and i already googled it, hence the differences i noted. but thanks for your effort guys.

The LSA gets an upgraded block, forged crank, heavy duty pm rods, lower compression hypereutectic pistons, oil squirters, and stronger cylinder heads. I hope this is the info you were seeking. And to answer your last question, without the blower the LSA would put down lower numbers than the LS3 because it was designed to be boosted for more power more reliably and more efficiently than a LS3 with just a more aggressive cam. It's not just a LS3 with a supercharger though.

See this thread for an in-depth overview of the LSA...There's a lot different about it from the LS3.
