Several threads discribe Many exhaust options. I bet most of us are not looking for extra horsepower, rather a better sound for a fairly inexpensive price.

1) SLP Loudmouth II catback

2) Borla Catback

3) Corsa

4) GM Performance

Any others worth mentioning?

Also: What is drone? What are other noise factors to consider?

If you have the expertise/knowledge, compare each of these exhaust AXLE-Back systems on:

a) comparative tone
b) ease of install (by typical purchaser)
c) Interior sound(s) (how loud/annoying, 'drone', other..)
d) Appearance of the tips
e) Any other comments helpful in making a decision

You say lets compare axle backs then you mention two cat backs. Axle backs are just mufflers swaps basically and no other piping is changed. This is the tuning thread, the regular V8 thread would be more appropriate, not to mention there is already a long list of sound clips of nearly every possible option. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21289

You would be better just making a post asking your questions about drone and whatever else you personally wanted to know. Everything about exhuast has already been covered on this site.

I agree with some of your reply, but again, I think that MOST people are not looking to swap out their entire exhaust, just get a better sound. My goal is to have info for this group of people in one spot. Reviews, if done (I haven't found yet), are scattered all over.

I thought the general sound of the exhaust brands would be similar axle vs catback, but if there are better videos I did ask for those posts! I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, just make a thread for this specific interest.

Heres the $400 CATBACK option. I don't understand how people can pay that much money for a couple of bent pipe. I guess its magical cause it has a word printed on the side.

I just had the American Racing headers and SLP Loudmouth II installed on my Camaro yesterday.
Believe me, it really makes a difference.
It has an awesome sound and definitely wakes up the exhaust.
It doesn't have much drone at all, SLP recommended the Loudmouth 2's over the 1's if you want to limit drone.
This was pretty much a total redo of the stock exhaust, but I'm definitely glad I did it and I would recommend this setup to anyone who is looking for more of a V8 sound out of their factory exhaust.

Nice, LMII is waht I'm leaning towards also.

What is the length of the SLP LMII muffler?? Is is a tight fit because SLP sells LMII mufflers separate but they look different and are 18-3/4" long.

I love the SLP line, I have heard the SLP #31212 Loudmouth 2 axleback paired with the new #30220 SLP PowerFlo x-pipe "the one that bolts to factory manifolds" and it sounds amazing.

Who's running the M6 or the A6 tranny. The SLP Loudmouth II's I put on this weekend are pretty droany when cruzing with the AFM activated, I'm finding out how frequent the AFM does kick in, when ever I reach any cruzing speed. They sound great on all 8 cylinders.

Take a look at my comment in the other thread...Drone from the LM2 is not a result of AFM, it happens in my M6 too.

That being said, it's WAAAAY better than stock.
