AAC amber halos

I'm just looking for opinions , I purchased the halos for the headlights and fogs and was told that I will have a lot of problems from the police. Has anyone that installed these had problems. Also does the amber look more like red or orange? If they look more like red I have too figure out a switch to shut them off when driving.

got stopped and was told they appeared red..it was obvious that with the sidemarkers on, you could see the difference, comparing the front and rear..{amber and red}...i think the problem is that leds unlike your normal amber bulb which is do soft in color, the leds are super bright and that is why it gets there attn and has a bright appearance...i,m sure you have seen iom cars and people alkmost mistake them for red...but when you actually park next to a red car, it is obvious very orange

I have the white/amber halos and have had no problems. It's not illegal if your driving with them on during the day... I always drive by cops with them on.... You just can't have red up front or white in the back because many of the emergency vehicles are situated like that.
The color is def. orange, not red. Look at my album.

we all agree that they are orange, not sure if they are actually AMBER, amber is not actually orange...amber and white is the only colors permitted in florida...so technically it all depends on the cop....you are not even allowed neon under car...states have different laws, but all have the no red or blue as far as i know..Amber is a combination of 75% Yellow and 25% red..only 25% red...orange is 50% between red and yellow..so as you can see, we have orange halo,s which is 50% red...amber actually 25% red..

The color Amber is not actually a certain color it is a range of color. I don't recall off the top of my head but it is the same range for the entire world as car manuf. Build cars that are sold internationally. So the way to figure out is to find out what that range is and what the output freq. Of the LEDs is.

that is correct, amber is a secondary color...which has 25% les red than orange....so we are omitting 25% more red thru our leds

your not gonna get a exact answer...if your going orange , expect to get stopped sometime along the way,to close to red, you prob won,t get ticket , but expect it anyways.. any other color, you need to look up your state law..every state is different

It's is 50% red and 50% Yellow, which puts it at 25% less red. than orange.

My amber side markers are amber IMO, they look like other amber I have seen. Just more pure in nature not diffused like bulbs are. more saturation I guess.

With regards to the Halos, I'd place them behind the factory ring to diffuse them a bit more, that might make them look more amber and less red perhaps?

this sounds like the best plan, thanks.

Only white and amber are legal colors. You will have cops that think the amber is a different color, though.
