LOL, I keep begging my husband to buy a Camaro for himself, so we can have 'His and Hers' like some forum members have....actually the Camaro is for both of us...we bought it for each other to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, however I have the greatest husband in the world who lets ME be the Daily Driver, and he is the the guy who keeps the Camaro all 'clean and shiny', and he drives it on the weekends...

What 'imported' Camaro???..last time I checked, the Camaro is built in Canada for GM and Canada and the USA are both part of NORTH AMERICA, so our cars are not imported from anywhere!!!...

Again, people are people. We ALL need jobs. WIthout Ford, who would we have to compete against? Our Camaro sure wouldn't be what we wanted it to be!

Long live ALL automakers...FORD INCLUDED. WE NEED THEM.

Well said, Tag!!!...100% agreed!!!...

I am proud to say that the most amazing folks at Oshawa, Ontario, Canada built me a 'dream called Camaro'...

My other vehicle is a 2009 Malibu built in Mich , Do i care ..NO

I could have bought an Oshawa built Impala but we liked the Malibu , my wife never at any time asked me where it was built , as long as it was GM then it was ok with her . I have sent a letter thanking the plant for a great car and have recommended it to friends and family . I'm proud to have American friends and proud to support GM products regardless of where their built.

Man i 've got to stop reading these threads about which country is better

Well said, Mike...just ignore the comments about where this car is made...I am so blessed that you and your fellow employees care enough about the quality of the Camaros that you all build for EVERYONE all over the world!!!!...

Bottom line, we all love and drive GM cars, regardless of where they are built...

No you can't.
You can hope, bet, expect, "see"....but not guarantee.

I don't believe for one second that the Mustang is selling in poor numbers due to an engine that the common Joe knows nothing about. That is one part of a bigger machine...and the Mustang way for the past three decades has been to focus on things other than performance, yes? Seemed to work given sales history...so why should this matter?

I agree with the part about the common Joe! Most of the Mustang buyers are not enthusiasts, they were just looking for a neat little sports car and the Mustang just happened to be there. Not everyone goes to the lots saying "oh they just redid the mustang's engine for MY2011! the v8 will have 400+hp and the v6 300+!!!!"....No they say oh that looks like a pretty nice little car and that is pretty much it.

We'll see, come talk to me after 2011 MY sales numbers are final. I stick by my statement the Mustang will outsell the Camaro unless we see some kind of dramatic failure of the US economy. Which is quite possible. Then it really won't matter which one sells more because both manufactures won't be selling many.

The new Mustang motors are going to bring more people into showrooms. Step out of Camaro5 for a minute and check out the rest of the web. Mustang sites have much more activity. A lot of positive comments on neutral car sites. Then when reviews hit and we see the Mustang close the gap and maybe even exceed the Camaro it will bring in more of the general public. Don't forget a lot of these first year Camaro sales come from guys waiting years for a new Camaro. They have their cars now. Will the general public fill that sales void in 2011?
Ha! I guarantee you the new 2011 Mustang won't out sell the Camaro, by not even one month. 2011 belongs to the Camaro. Sorry if I sound like the Marofan boy but I just don't see the new 5.0 Mustang out selling the Camaro. Right now, nobody is digging that 2010 Mustang, the Camaro is on top in sales right now, I think that will continue in the future because the new 5.0 looks exactly the same as the 2010 model except for more performance being implemented into the car. You can debate me on that, do an external comparison, the 2010 Mustang and the 2011 Mustang 5.0 looks exactly the same with no difference. Oh wow, they add "5.0" side decals to the car, big change! Shock and awe! Other than that, the car is exactly the same as the 2010 in looks, and because of that, I don't think any more customers are going to buy it than what was already sold in first year of 2010 Mustangs arrival.

You can't just change the performance of a car and make no cosmetic changes to it and expect people to say "oh we have more power now, so let's buy more". The fact is it still looks the same. Sure under the hood looks all good, but 90 percent of people don't buy a car based on how under the hood looks. Most people buy based one what they can see first,.....the looks of the car, and the interior then they start thinking about it's performance. Just because the new Mustang is getting a better engine, I don't see anything changing much between the 2010 and the 2011 version.

Now and days, I see more Camaros out and about, not many, but I'm definitely seeing more Camaros than I use to down here. I saw 4 in one day yesterday,.....a record for me. I think more of the reason why people are buying the new Camaro is because more than any performance numbers it can put out, IT LOOKS GOOD, JUST GREAT. Chevy got it right with it's design, next the power, every enthusiast wants that, so it's a plus. New mustang.......FAIL.

I think Americans need jobs and the car should be built in the states.

Look for at least 3 more years of ouselling or till total redesigns, and I'm sure GM wont sit idle to long on the HP wars. I would guess your a convert from the mustang world? But I could be wrong it's still a nice car. It's a bitter pill to swallow but you can't always win or outsell everyone. So it's Camaro's turn , sorry to hear about the job losses but that would turn around quickly if the economy continues to "improve".

It all came down to 2 minutes less on break suposedly over the US plant, by the way at the time it was closed with no plans for any future vehicles.. No offence to our beloved northen neighbors but muscle cars are a sort of national heritage. Thats like Canadian bacon being made in Ohio.

That was more due to GM thinking SUV's and trucks were the future, but when your heart is not in building somethin thats what you get. They barely even advertised the cars back then. Unlike now were they don't need to because of demand and transformers movies , toys, t-shirts ect.
