We dont own Canada.

We build/assemble aircraft and sell them to Canada for them to protect the people who live to build this Camaro we drive.
Even Canada makes things like the Canopy for the f16 we just install it.

Anyone watch the Olympic opening ceremonies ? America walked out and Canada stood and clapped. They support us as we do them.

Right now the replacement for the f16 future and in the works f35 joint strike fighter is over budget but guess what money from countries like Canada has been pitched in to keep it going and make everything so far possible.

im a proud american and I agree buy from here if we can but only very few things in life are american MADE.

I got a question for you and im not here trying to cause an argument either.

Let me tell you something man I work for the Aerospace industry and We build fighter jets that protect this country. Probably over 45% of its parts are now contracted all over the world and the plane is put together right here in Ft worth Texas.
We used to build everything that went on a F16 from the moment it was raw material to the moment it rolled out to the flightline and into the sky. Now we only make 55% of it and assemble it. NOTHING IS 100% MADE IN THE USA
Your Mustang is not MADE in the USA it is Assembled in the USA there are pleanty of foreign made parts on that car the only difference is your car was Assembled in Michigan and the Camaro was Assembled in Canada.

If you want to argue with someone over a car vs a car thats fine whatever man but dont look down on the Camaro and say its a shame because of where it was ASSEMBLED. Thats BS imo and yes its only my opinion however I guess this coming Friday morning when its time for 9 F16's to be sent over to iran for service we need to stop them because I wouldnt want a plane thats only 55% american made to protect your Butt.

This is not a tear down thread on a automaker this is a thread where someone lost his job mainly because Ford SCREWED up by telling everyone so soon next years car will be more Hp therefore people said I will wait. There is no difference between your car and a Camaro in how its made just where it is put together.

Right now your tax paying money is paying a gentleman I know in Palm Dale California to sit on his butt and not do anything because he is waiting on a aircraft part that someone in Arizona didnt make correctly.

This is not a Rant thread man come on we are both Americans let show some pride comes as one and pray those 900 folks get another job with the ford system and keep the 3 automakers going strong.

People are people. Our cars are made from all over the world now. Parts from our cars even come from all over the world. A while back I swore I wanted this car built in America. But, when you have the good folks at Oshawa putting our cars together with near ZERO issues, are you going to want to change THAT?!?!?!

Again, people are people. We ALL need jobs. WIthout Ford, who would we have to compete against? Our Camaro sure woulnd't be what we wanted it to be!

It really is dis-heartning to see members slagging the Camaro as being from Canada , and the fact we are some alien country that deserves no industry to servive. I have always had an American built truck ( no problems ) yes my current Z-71 is Oshawa built , but my next one will be from Fort Wayne . Do i care....NO !! My other vehicle is a 2009 Malibu built in Mich , Do i care ..NO

I could have bought an Oshawa built Impala but we liked the Malibu , my wife never at any time asked me where it was built , as long as it was GM then it was ok with her . I have sent a letter thanking the plant for a great car and have recommended it to friends and family . I'm proud to have American friends and proud to support GM products regardless of where their built.

Man first of all Thank You for a job very well done on my Camaro and Secondly forget about what the nay sayers think you know you build a great product that supports 2 great Nations/Allies and I am glad that this Camaro along with other GM products can support BOTH Americans and Canadians because we would both "countries" be alot worse off without each other

I think the difference is that the Jobs are being lost 'Post Bailout'

Much of the 'Let GM go bankrupt' attitude was meant instead of bailout.

Just a possibility.

I feel sorry for the Ford workers that drove a domestic car off the lot but none for the Asian market cars. Yes I'm aware the Camaro is made in Canada
