I have all 3 software to compare the same tune files.

Ted.

As I mentioned in my e-mail to you... I do greatly appreciate your time and effort with this and I do have a lot of respect for you and your staff. Hence... I would not have driven 1000 miles each way if I did not have any faith in you. You definitely are very knowledgeable when it comes to tuning and with the Camaro's in general. This was by no means any disrespect to you or your knowledge at all. The post was just for the emissions issue that I have to get nailed down so I can drive without looking in my rearview mirror constantly. I still plan to run your performance tune no matter what because the tune is great. So please forgive me if this post expressed otherwise.

I am still working with Ted on this issue and he seems to think that the Kooks headers are releasing too much heat because they are not coated. Is there anyone else that has passed emissions with Kook's headers? if so are they coated or wrapped? Hopefully we can find out soon so I get get back legal.

Thanks,

Ray

I have LT headers and a tune and the first time I got it inspected it failed. I called my installer and he said I just need to run more miles on her and let it cycle through and the 2nd time I brought it to get inspected it passed no problems.

Do you have Kook's headers? if so are they coated or uncoated? Ted is thinking that the Kooks are really thin and they let too much heat escape...

Thanks,

Ray

If that's the case then this would happen on ALL uncoated headers I would think! I just ordered Dynatechs from Ted so I hope there isn't any issues with them! I'm on my 2 year inspection which is due on July. Not sure though if NY does the emission check after 2 years or not, anyone know? Ray I feel for ya man! Hope this works itself out soon! If anyone can get to the bottom of this it's Ted for sure! Hang in there!

Thanks Mike.. Ted definitely knows his stuff and he stated that the kook's headers are the thinest on teh market and that they do not hold any heat so I am wondering if wrapping them would help. Good luck with your header project as well.

Just added this as something to read over again, just in case something jumps out that you may have missed.

Weak O2? or did you change them out?

It is possible the associated sensor got damaged during install. It happens. Again good luck and hang in there.
