Anyone have trouble with ground effects?

They found a a Camaro finally. 2SS/RS black on black. I'm thrilled but I know I have to have the ground effects just like my old one had but I have a nagging feeling I am going to end up with the new one back in the dealer for the same problem I had one #1. My exhaust tips were rubbing the inside of the Showodw box (or whatever it's called) so I had to cut the stock ones off and go with slightly smaller tips. Pain in the Arss on a brand new car. Has anyone had this problem??? The dealer says more then likely I will have to do the same on this one too. It just doesn't seem right to have to do all that. Seems to me like Chevy would make a Ground Effect pkg that would accommodate it's existing tips? Am I crazy? I know you guys are SICK of me going on about this deal but it's a big deal. I drove the new one today. I thought it seemed a little faster then my old one and the sales guy said it has a few more horsies. It was great. Didn't make my decision any easier. The Ford is here too. NOW WHAT?

The LS3 and L99 engines have the same horsepower ratings they have had since the beginning...426 and 400 respectively. That salesperson must be confused with the power bump for the new V6. Good luck with the new one though!

those add on ground effects seem to be a problem with others, i have read. Maybe you can adjust the exhaust hangers (bend them a pinch?)

When I had the stock exhaust on my car with ground effects, it would rattle sometimes. I would pull down on the bezel and it would help stop the vibrating for a few days. Now I have an aftermarket exhaust and the MBRP tips that are made specifically for the GFX and I havent had a problem.

my stock exhaust tips fit in fine in my GM ground effects. they actually touch the metal part of the GFX but it doesn't rattle or melt anything.

I have the GFX with stock exhaust for now and I also did not have this issue with the rubbing. Maybe your original camaro's exhaust wasn't on straight???

Is the exhaust welded? Mine are, no problem, but the tips for the SS are bigger than the tips for the 2LT. Maybe the exhaust isn't tight enough and vibrates some?

PS: I'm from Edmond!

Just get it already. I mean it in the nicest of ways. You want it, your apprehensive on the Ford. The only hold up is the exhaust tips right? So go see a muffler shop and make Hubby pay for tips that fit the GFX. Then post pics of him and what he's paying for for the love of his life. Best wishes.
