I know it would never happen.. though it would have to be the most simple plan ever for the Z/28
Take an SS. and put all the GMPP stuff on it. Its the I wanna mod my car but, well, I have no time or ready cash so let me finance it. 1/2SS + the following.
Then a ZL1 package that swaps in the LSA for the HP junkies |

Doesn't matter now. The aftermarket has covered up the z\28 and zl1. No longer valid like they were in 1969. GM made a mistake by not coming out with the Z/28 up front and Lingenfelter, LMR, ADM, Hennessey and others get the proper "spoils".

Z28 and other performance package. Not necessarily ZL1
You can quote me on that later http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35632 |

you seem to be confusing performance with horsepower

First it was a question. If you actually know a reason the the 2.5" would be better for performace as an aftermarket item for this car, by all means say so. I'm always interested in learning something new about performance engineering.
Second, take the question at face value. If I have a higher HP engine do I not want a larger exhaust? i.e If I am running 500rwhp do I want a 2.5" cat-back or do I want a 3"? Since they say stainless steel, they obviously aren't making a titanium exhaust system. So for performance it isn't by saving huge amounts of unsprung weight. In fact the biggest weight savings would be the loss of the exisitng OEM mufflers which would actually push wieght bias forward. Not alot and maybe not even significantly, but that would still be the effect Ergo, the purpose of an different exhaust system would be to be less restrictive and A) sound better or B) allow for more HP and torque. Since they are billing it as a Performace item the fact that it may sound awesome is secondary. Since I can't see any other ways exhaust systems comtributes to performace, I'm still thinking that no, I meant higher HP settups. |

Does anyone else think the Z/28 should have NO back seat? It saves on weight.....

If you want a car without a back seat, save for a Corvette. The Camaro is made for 4 seats
