I can tell you this... I really felt like they genuinely loved this gathering. When they return to work, they are going to have a new outlook on their job... Just knowing how much people really appreciate what they do. And they'll tell their co-workers who didn't come... And so on... Also they are going to have an article and pictures in their newspaper... So word will spread, and next year will be bigger... Hopefully this really turns into a great annual event!

It was a lot of fun to help with everything. Thank you Hylton and Scott for letting me help. You both really made me feel like part of the event.

I will post pictures that I have and tell more about the events of the weekend tomorrow.

Joanne and I had a FANTASTIC time this weekend.

I had the pleasure of meeting "the Mole" ( I was quite surprised that he has a real face ). Super60 ( Mike ), it was great talking with you, and there were several others from the Oshawa team that joined us for the "beer tasting" festivities ( I'm really sorry, but I forgot your names ). All you guys rock

To all the Employees of Oshawa, and Martinrea, THANK YOU for your doing what you do. I LOVE my car

To Hylton, and your helpers....You did a bang up job organizing this event.... THANK YOU

To all the Camaro5 members that we met, It was a GREAT pleasure

I'm looking forward to the next one already

I didn't take too many pictures, but here's what I have ....

Looking at the pictures and seeing the thread from Saturday, I'm sorry I had to leave for a concert - and I am REALLY upset I missed today - that would have been great, and the cars looked AWESOME at Martinrea.

As has been mentioned.. Hylton - THANKS so much for setting this up. We had such a great time, even with the weather. It was a blast driving from venue to venue with all those beautiful cars.

The mayor mentioned to me that if he had known a bit earlier he could have proclaimed the day "Camaro Day" in Oshawa. I told him that would be great for NEXT year! Knowing he is a fan himself, we will have to get him involved next year as well.

Lastly - Hiney... your Bumblebee with the custom paint.. looks AMAZING. It was great to see it in person. Even on a cloudy day it just looked so great. Can't wait to see all of the changes everyone has made by next time we get together. I'll post some pictures when I get them from my brother.

All of the letters of appreciation you have all sent to me (70 or so) will be published in the unions newspaper which has a circulation of 23,000. We felt that this was the best way to ensure that Oshawa employees have the opportunity to read them. In addition, we will be setting up a special thread here so that Oshawa employees can login and read them at anytime. There will be a link published in this week's plant newspaper leading to the new thread (my job for today).

Hylton, I noticed in a photo a few pages back that someone had a hat commemorating the event. Any chance that there might be some left over that those of us that helped sponsor the event can purchase?

Everyone who sponsored the event will be receiving an event dash plaque, a Martinrea "camaro" t-shirt and the event cap you speak of made by Hiney1.

Wow Hylton - unexpected - let us know if we can help with postage or something via PayPal as we gave from the heart not expecting anything...

From the pictures and descriptions already posted it was a proud day for Oshawa/Martinrea, GM and camaro5.com - those of us who couldn't be there obviously regret not being able to adjust our schedules. Perhaps another event in 2010 though...
