While I love the control over a manual and would love to have a manual in my Camaro, I am going with the automatic due to my knee My truck is a manual and my knee aches and hurts all of the time, so with the sports car its going to be worse with a heavier clutch and such. Since I plan on taking it to events where I will definitely be in stop and go traffic, I must forfeit the manual, but hey - the car has looks and power, so it is still good

Good question. Even the Hertz Fun Collection cars come with automatics. I'm hoping they add the Camaro to the list. I'd love to take an extended test drive.

That's a good idea, something I decided I'd do every time I buy a car ever since I had a bad experience with a car that felt ok on a test drive but I just was uncomfortable in once I owned it. Since then I've bought a couple cars without doing that, but they were immediately obvious as being perfect for me without needing time to be sure...

Ok AND now that i see that the 'PADDLE SHIFT' is acutally 'BUTTON SHIFT' I Will Definatly be getting a Manual..Unless the recent pix posted are wrong. Or maybe changed before production, to a real 'PADDLE SHIFT',then i might consider a auto as a second car.

I think the paddles are buttons on the back of the wheel that you pull to shift, so they're not like the malibu where you push in and pull out.
