WHy would you be revving the car so high in neutral? I've always heard that's bad for a motor. As long as it revs appropriately in gear, it should be OK.

RPMs

Seems like it could use a few hundred more RPMs when speed shifting, hit the limiter the first time I tried it. I think part of the problem is the gearbox itself. Even with the Husrt short throw shifter it's not the quickest shifting trans I've driven.

Maybe going for the old "neutral slam" as you "know" that is the proper way to treat an auto car!

I don't know how bad it is (I guess it depends on what you do after you rev that high), but why would you need to rev past 4k sitting in neutral?

So I spoke to one of the engineers from the Milford proving grounds, and turns out that the pushrods are the weak point in the stock LS3. If it goes much over the limiter there is a good chance that the pushrods will fail/bend.

If you're a fraction of a second late or slow with your shift when power shifting at the top of the band, the damn limiter cuts in, the car lurches, and by the time it recovers whatever was beside you is now out in front somewhere...

Good God, I'm with you guys. I think I've lost some IQ points having read most of the dumb replies in this thread. Most of these people have never seen a drag strip.
